---anyone here know anything about building computers?---

i wanna build a new system, i want something kick-ass...i will be doing alot of video editing (HD video) on this machine

i need to start off with a good motherboard & processor, i was thinking of these two:

^ that seems like a good start, yea??

what video cards (i wanna get 2 SLI & bridge them as 1) do you recommend ?

i would also like to get 4gigs of Corsair ram

and what about hard drives? i've been enjoying Seagate Sata's, but the WD Raptors have a bigger buffer & higher RPM (10k compared to 7,200 for SeaGate).... opinions?

thanks in advance for any advice received. thank you

:)

also, if that processor is overkill, let me know...and what you'd recommend instead, thanks !! (must be AMD cpu)

Why AMD ? I've worked with video and audio a lot, had only problems with them. I'd rather buy a Sony video edit system instead, expensive but worth it.

stay away from WD...

i'm not a fan of AMD

for $12-1500 you can get a very worthwhile system.. i have a buddy of mine who puts it together for me & orders all the parts, but make sure you get ~2GB of RAM and and insane amount of HD space, like 300 gigs minimum. Also, make sure the RAM is compatible with your motherboard. Hit me up on ICQ if you have any specific questions.
