Police say porn king had $4500-a-day heroin bill

FORMER internet porn king Greg Lasrado was injecting up to $4500 worth of heroin a day before he was caught in a police sting this week, a court has heard.

The 35-year-old, who once made an estimated $3-$10 million a year, appeared in handcuffs in the Brisbane Magistrate's Court yesterday where he was charged with possession of a dangerous drug.

Police also claim he transferred $60,000 over the past month into the bank account of a 25-year-old who supplied him with heroin.

Lasrado ? whose occupation was listed on court documents as stock trader ? was arrested by detectives at his Kenmore Hills home on Thursday.

Police opposed Lasrado's release, saying he was already on bail for a charge of driving while under the influence of a drug and causing grievous bodily harm.

He was granted bail from the Holland Park Magistrate's Court in December last year and will face court again on that charge in April.

Prosecutor Sergeant Jen Jacobsen said 5g of rock heroin was found at Lasrado's home yesterday.

She claimed Lasrado had spent about $60,000 on heroin since January 21, and was shooting about $4500 worth of the drug up his arm every day.

"He is an unacceptable risk to the public and himself due to his addiction," Sgt Jacobsen said.

She said Lasrado had made admissions to police about his heroin use and about financial transactions he made to his alleged supplier.

Defence counsel Peter Nolan said his client had no criminal history, but admitted he had a problem with heroin and wanted help.

"He tells me he has made contact with a drug rehabilitation consortium in the cells today," he said.

Magistrate Jacqui Payne agreed to grant bail.

Two other men appeared in custody in connection with Lasrado's arrest, including Bede Michael McMillan, 25, who police claim was supplying Lasrado almost daily with heroin.

A third man, Justin Charles Schiro, 33, has been charged with 12 offences including drug trafficking. Both men were bailed.

All three accused will reappear before the court on April 10.

Classic case of being idiotic with your money, crumbling in to the ravaging addiction of drugs, being too visible with your wealth, and thinking you're invincible.

$4500 a day? my guess is that he was also supplying friends and shit, cause I have done $120 worth in a day a LONG TIME AGO (emphasis on that, and not in needle form), and there is no way he could be doing $4500 a day

Was he so fucked up that he didn't realize that he was being overcharged? I dunno, never used heroin so I dunno what the going rate is or what tolerance you can build to ... but I doubt anyone could ever build to a $4500/day tolerance.

haha, there are so many stories about that guy and the other big porn players in brisbane; if i remember *correctly* it was him a few years ago who got pulled over drink driving his lamborghini near botanical gardens and had over 1million in cash on the passenger seat as he just had left the casino :D

For the record that article appears to be from an Australian news site and is most likely quoting in Aussie dollars.

AUD$4500 equates to around USD$3300.

I have no idea of the going rate for H these days but as someone said above it was premo shit and the guy was completely junked out it is within the realm of possibility. :winkwink:

I'm sure not all of it was for him.. it would have been AAA grade and shared with mates.. Plus drug economics are a bit different here.. we're a smaller market too.. not having ever been exposed to heroin though I don't have a clue of the cost but we pay up to four times as much for cocaine vs the US... about the same for ecstacy vs the UK.. Then again thats because of proximity to columbia/mexico and the netherlands etc respectively.. We're closer to Thailand etc so maybe it's cheaper here instead of more expensive. *shrugs* Anyways.. hell of a waste.. and a bit silly to be direct depositing for drugs.
