I bought a 1938 Art Deco stapler for $1 today...
I was at a yard sale in Venice -- I saw this modern looking stapler and I fell in love w/ the design. And only $1!
Supposedly this is the stapler that got us through WWII... This was one of the first staplers to feature "Stroke Control" which reduced staple jamming. This pic is from the "Early Office Museum" <img src="http://www.officemuseum.com/Stapler%20Gallery%20Magazine/1938_Swingline_Speed_Products_Co._No._3_OM.JPG"> I also bought a very interesting copper tea-pot -- i need to do some research online to see if it's worth anything... |

Taunton, Mass. It's a little over 1 foot tall... really elongated looking. Maybe it's Art Deco also? I couldn't find anything in Google about it... or Coppercraft in general... |
not sure on the age, but these links may help
petina is a sticking point with many collectors, and dealers, if you plan to keep it shine it up or what ever, if you're thinking of selling it, leave it as is, most collectors prefere it that way http://pages.tias.com/7401/PictPage/1920671158.html http://www.antiqueresources.com/arti...opperdate.html http://www.tace.com/links/index.html?cat=2 :thumbsup |
Hey Pete, my father has a stapler, that was made pre-staples (if that makes any sense)
It slices the paper, then it cuts a tongue shaped grove, and folds that grove under, and back thru the slice. In doing so, it locks all the paper together. It's pretty cool. :) The one he has isn't on here, but there is one similar. http://www.officemuseum.com/staplers.htm |
Still on the search for a cool flip side toaster - i scour ebay regulary but still haven't found one to me liking
