BusterBunny 02-17-2006 06:16 PM

?qci si tahw

sumphatpimp 02-17-2006 06:17 PM

don't know really.
it just became the default instant messenger for webmasters.

chase 02-17-2006 06:21 PM

because you get hit up by less random idiots on icq then yahoo/aim/msn...at least I know it's true for me, lol.

After Shock Media 02-17-2006 06:23 PM

Just so that people will come to gfy to ask this very question once or twice a month.

Because everyone here uses ICQ.

Spunky 02-17-2006 06:42 PM

Because it is probably the most recognized tool and everybody seems to use it

baddog 02-17-2006 06:46 PM

industry standard . . . and the history feature really helps

Spider Ninja 02-17-2006 06:48 PM

because ICQ has been around longer than msn/aim/yahoo maybe, people settled into ICQ a long time ago

Fresh 02-17-2006 06:50 PM

because thats what they put on my business cards.

Goldmaniacs 02-17-2006 06:51 PM

Did they resolve all the exploit problems? It used to leave your computer ass wide open for intruders

Babagirls 02-17-2006 06:51 PM

dont know.
i love yahoo messenger a LOT more! they have pc to pc calling, free voicemail, stealth settings (you can look invisable to some people but visable to everyone..love that feature!), and they also have Archieves/History. and it never fails or goes down, unlike icq.

nico-t 02-17-2006 07:29 PM

almost everyone uses it in this biz plus i agree with chase

loverboy 02-18-2006 02:14 PM

adult industry standard (period) , just like soda= coca cola

:smokin

NoWhErE 02-18-2006 02:21 PM

Personnally I find ICQ more stable than any other IM program.

And by posting an ICQ number, you don't have friggin' email sniffers that pickup your adress and spam you with stupid spammail for years to come

Cole Trickle 02-18-2006 02:28 PM

I love it! Plus+ everyone in the industry uses also :2 cents:

Actually, I find Yahoo Messenger to be way crappier than ICQ, for a number of reasons. ICQ logs are much more easily accessible, whereas you have to dig hard for your Yahoo Messenger ones. Also, Yahoo Messenger loses way more offline messages than ICQ does, in addition to being laggy and overall buggy, most of the time. Sure, ICQ could be better, but I really find it to be the least crappy of the lot.

Ay ay, I agree to that.

Manowar 02-18-2006 04:09 PM

ICQ is where its at

StuartD 02-18-2006 04:11 PM

Because the string in between all of our soup cans started getting REALLY tangled up somewhere around Albuquerque.

The Hotness 02-18-2006 06:01 PM

if you don't like the ICQ client, you could always use Trillian

Sarah_Jayne 02-18-2006 06:10 PM

I use it through trillian but even when I just used it on its own I preferred it for buisness because its history files worked the best. It became popular becase at one point it was what was available and by the time the others became popular everyone was already on icq.

nadanada 02-18-2006 06:12 PM

old habits are hard to break. been using it, what 10 years now?

RayBonga 02-18-2006 06:15 PM

ICQ was the real pioneer in instant messaging.

It has been around much longer than any of the others.

FlyingIguana 02-18-2006 06:20 PM

why use anything other than icq?

ajrocks 02-18-2006 06:24 PM

If you don't know that you're not part of the group. Leave now and never return.

redHOTrage 02-18-2006 07:55 PM

I don't use it yet.

Kristian 02-18-2006 08:11 PM

Simple answer : because everyone here uses icq.

munki 02-18-2006 08:16 PM

It's all about the history for me, and less spam than on other IM tools.

At the same time, I do also use AIM, Yahoo, and MSN to keep in touch with mainstream clients who get a little wrinkle on their brow when I mention ICQ.

sixxxthsense 02-18-2006 08:21 PM

cuz whoever has ICQ has been around longer!

SmokeyTheBear 02-18-2006 10:04 PM

simple. lots of features, most stable messenger system around ( widely used )

Vitasoy 02-18-2006 10:06 PM

I LOVE Little Brown Asses 02-18-2006 10:16 PM
