Probably better to do a search on google for companies in Costa Rica and contacting them.

From what I know, no hosting company here offers colo facilities in Costa Rica.

Splitinfinity has colo down there. Also you will find "hosta rica" - avoid like the plague!

Well, lets say I, and others, had very bad experiences with them. Is CR a requirement - what about Panama, Bahamas etc?

Costa Rica... hmm, I bet I can guess what you are hosting.

Bump for you.

WarChild 02-18-2006 10:00 PM

Hosting is expensive in Costa Rica. Splitfinity is who you want though.

what kind of bad experiences though?

I will ask my client about the other countries.

dbavaria 02-20-2006 01:01 AM

Just out of curioisty, why do people want hosts in random countries like costa rica?

There's nothing random about Costa Rica. Let's just say the laws allow you to run certain highly profitable businesses from Costa Rica that would otherwise be illegal in the United States. Costa Rica is also a stable democracy, so it's a perfect pairing.

Will, everything that is vital for your biz - support response, support knowledge and server stability. Support took forever and downtime was way beyond bad - I mean, occasional hiccups might be ok, but downtimes of 24+ hours isnt. I assume your client are setting up gambling sites, and then I think (I think), you would be just aswell of hosting in panama or in the bahamas. Talk to:

Maxil Bahamas: http://www.maxil.com/
Siliconcanal.com (panama)

Also avoid:

hostingpanama.com/hosting.com.pa (good and professional, but their connectivity sucked (notice imperfect))

hosting-panama.com (running on an adsl line or something..)

privatehosting.com (total fuckups)

Others, dont know much about them:

cybercastco.com
katzglobal.com

LalKbMr81 02-20-2006 03:21 PM

I have forwarded all of these to my client.

another bump for some more though =)

LalKbMr81 02-20-2006 08:12 PM
