Pool.com backorders.. do you keep the domain with the registrar?

I've used Pool.com for backordering domains in the past.. Usually when you win, some bullshit registrar is in control of the domain for you.. I recently had to BATTLE to renew a domain that was placed with Enetica (an Aussie registrar). I was wondering if any of you guys actually transfer domains you've won to another registrar that you feel better with? This might have to become a best practice for me.. I really dont want to go through this again.

Also, the registrar I want to hold most of my portfolio is Fabulous.com - do you guys recommend them?

Thanks in advance

I try to transfer pool acquisitions to my primary registrar, though sometimes am lazy about it until renewal time. It's definitely the best thing to do, just an inconvenience. You have to wait until a month after purchase for inter-registrar transfers, and some of the "bullshit registrars" also make it a hassle to unlock a domain for transfer.

Hell no move it quick from Pool. I lost a very valued domain at a registrar in Japan because I thought it was safe there and learned my lesson quickly.

yeah, i renewed my domain with Enetica , and before they would process my CC, they demanded i send a fax/snail mail a letter saying they can charge me... i sent this letter 7 times, $18 each time to australia. then they finally processed it. there was NO support with this bullshit company too, never responded to emails or calls

It's always a pain in the ass, but it's worth it.
