Malicious worm aims to bite Apple
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4723390.stm
Mac users are being warned about what has been described as one of the first viruses for Apple's OS X software. |
I love it... all the apple egos around here always try to push macs on other people, now that more people are using them, you have made yourselves a bigger target for viruses and spyware. Enjoy!
|
It's only for iChat...
Who the fuck uses iChat? |
ichat today, what next??????
|
So they finally made themselves a target.
|
i don't know of a single person using ichat. big deal.

They said the threat was extremely low on CNN. If this was written for Windows you wouldn't even hear about it... but I guess us mac folk deserve to have it rubbed in our face. :)

lol - at least it's not relivent to any of our unix servers...i think mac users need to be knocked down a peg or two, but on the same token, mac does have a niche. I'd compare it to a pissing/shitting niche, but it's a niche none-the-less:1orglaugh |
Can you get virus softwear for macs?

http://today.reuters.co.uk/News/News...LE-WORM-DC.XML "The new worm, called OSX.Inqtana.A, spreads through a vulnerability in Apple's OS X operating system via Bluetooth wireless connections, antivirus company Symantec said." It was bound to happen, the worm lives naturally in the Apple. |
Yea, theres even been a few worms for linux.. nothing new. Not even close to remotely damaging.. i think that second one was found to be a proof of concept.
Either way, its still abundantly clear that macosx and linux are fundamentally designed to be as reasonably secure from these sorts of things as an OS can be. Of course no OS in invulnerable. But the widespread carnage you see accross windows systems due to virus's is still unlikely for either mac or linux in my opinion. |
fak that sucks, even though its for ichat.
