Need a passport for Nassau Bahamas?
Anyone know if I will need to have a passport to get into Nassau Bahamas? We will be flying into Nassau not coming off of a cruise ship.
I have read a government ID would do so I'm thinking my state drivers license would be fine? |
I think you need a passport for any out of country travel after 9/11

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2223.html I think the Bahamas would be considered the Caribbean, but you should investigate further. |

Thanks! |
Hmm, when I went to Mexico last year I was told that I would not be allowed in without a passport. Passports aren't hard to get and make verifying who you are and such much easier... therefore you get through the lines much faster, etc. I would get one just in case. Just my paranoid opinion though. :2 cents:

I believe you need a photo id (Driver's License) and an certified Birth Certificate (one with a stamp or seal not just an extract) on it . Least thats always worked for me.

ACTUALLY... I misspoke. I was told that I may get INTO Mexico just fine, but may not be allowed BACK into the US as easily without a passport. Either way, a passport was highly recommended to me.
