Dirt cheap bandwdth needed

I need a paid host (cogent OK) for hosting my movie galleries.

I need a host that charges under 49 cents/GB and has plans starting under $100 with no setup fees.

It's urgent! ICQ 2929686 [email protected]

You'll never use less than $100 posting movie galleries.

Its more like $1000

how about $.50 a gig? im with ITMOM.com and they seem pretty good for bandwidth prices.. theres no setup charge either. check them to make sure they have what you need, they dont do streaming or anything.

unless your just dumping mpg's there, in which case - gimme an URL! =)

The movies I am posting are about 1.6MB in DiVX AVI form. I am posting about two per page. I also see ColoGroup has .50/GB. Is ITMOM cogent?

Jayson, Iam not starting a pissing match, I just have a few comments about your comparison chart. It never mentions what quality bandwidth any of those hosts have?? ie Cogentco or better..
Also it doesnt say what percentile they all bill at, like 95th or lower??..

Just food for thought?

pimpshost 04-21-2002 10:23 PM

No problem, our service is very reliable and our customers are very happy. The comparison chart is for comparing prices. I am sure we could do a comparison chart with items like quality of network, quality of support, etc. and it would look different.

From the feedback I have been getting, our company presents a great overall value. Our price is great, our support is great, and the network is very good. The network may not match up to AT&T or Qwest, but my customers are happy, that is what counts.

Billing by the gig is on a metered basis that has nothing to do with 95th percentile. If you use 100 Gigs, you pay for 100 Gigs. I think your question is aimed at billing for bandwidth which is measured in sustained usage.

Thats what I am talking about. What percentile do you and all the hosts you compare calculate for bandwidth usage. Is it at 95th, 90th, 50 ?? what is it billed at??

pimpshost 04-22-2002 12:48 AM

The comparison is of packages billed on a per gig basis, not mbps. Take a look at it and you will see.

Hosting Comparison

If you want me to put together a comparison chart of my dedicated server packages, I can do that. I bill for dedicated servers on the 95 percentile, like many other hosts. And for customers who want to be billed on average, it is $.50/Gig which is the same as average.

In response to that, I just got an ICQ from a customer that signed up with us in the past couple weeks. Here is what he said about our company.

Session Start (ICQ - 152811524:Dave): Mon Apr 22 00:11:04 2002
Dave: Hey Jason,

My server has done 93.5 gb in traffic so far today and is still fast. You get my vote as the best host I've ever had.

What's wrong with rack shack?
