stupid smoking law in my country!!!!(Czech rep.)

one month ago there were provided a law that is:

people are not alowed to smoke on bus stops.so now they smoke next to the stops and the smoke even reach the people on the bus stop.Is not it stupid?a fine is about 6 euro, almost nothing but for one cigarette....

smoking was prohibited on other places also and my boyfriend who is in charge of several coffees was made almost close one coffee because the costumers stops going because of smoking prohibition on that place.

Stupid smoking laws!!!

I'm just impressed that your boyfriend was in charge of several coffees.

Paul Markham 02-17-2006 04:44 AM

I think it's good that they stop people smoking in public. What about the rights of all the non smokers to not breath in the smoke?

jana69 02-17-2006 05:36 AM

I know,Paul but people smoke houndrets years and it is everyonehahaha180;s decision and the way how to make people stop smoking I thik should be diferent than this. I agree that it is not fair poison the nonsmokerhahaha180;s air.But other way.

invertiga 02-17-2006 05:42 AM

I dissagree
this way of thinking would lead us to close the most of industrial factories - they produce far worse shit then smokers and more dangerouse -and also in public.....:2 cents:

Teodora 02-17-2006 06:10 AM

DirtyProfits 02-17-2006 06:26 AM

I think it's a good idea to ban smoking from bars and cafes

everestcash 02-17-2006 06:26 AM

it is really stupid, i believe in freedom of choice, and that people can smoke if they want to, but then, they shouldn't be damaging other people's health, that's a dilemma

jana69 02-17-2006 06:33 AM

I htink that politics is stupid, all governments need tabac industry because it means a lot of money from tax and on the other hand they make these laws. They should fight against these industry in general...

tomud 02-17-2006 06:45 AM

As of March 26th, in Scotland no one is allowed to smoke in public places. This means no smoking at all in Pubs, Bars, Clubs, Restaraunts, etc.

I really can't wait.

Its no dilema at all. Passive smoking kills people. I chose not to smoke, so why should I have to put up with people who do smoke? I shouldn't.

EroticySteve 02-17-2006 07:18 AM

Nearly all in my extended family smokes. I lost my cousin to lung cancer at 39 years old. She wasn't a smoker.

People can make decisions for themselves, if they choose to smoke so be it. Just don't subject anyone else to your smoke.

cool1 02-17-2006 07:25 AM

We have smoking laws here too, you get used to them.

Spunky 02-17-2006 07:28 AM

Isn't somewhere in the States it is illegal to smoke in your own car?

KamilMax 02-17-2006 08:04 AM

Sharky01276 02-17-2006 09:44 AM

law being passed in uk at the moment, PUBS CLUBS BARS no smoking

abadfish 02-17-2006 09:47 AM

Stupid smokers!!!

I find it comical that smokers will refuse to go out because they are unable to smoke. Shouldn't that right there help you realize that you have a problem with addiction and you are not in control of your smoking habit? That would scare me personally.

Smokers and business owners used the same argument around here before we had a public smoking ban passed. If I can go to a bar without drinking why would smokers not be able to go to a bar and not smoke? lol

Ever since the smoking ban was in place I have loved going out and enjoying myself. I can go out to a bar, casino, club, etc even for just a few moments to have a beer, eat some food or play pool with friends without worrying about reeking of smoke or having red eyes or a sore throat. Even smokers say how much nicer it is to go out on the weekends.

nexcom28 02-17-2006 09:59 AM

I believe in freedom of choice, if a business wants to allow smoking within it's premisis that it's paid it's taxes for then that business should be allowed to operate a smioking policy.
