LA: We will go it alone

Smart move. The City of Los Angeles has decided that they will set up their own DHS to take care of issues in the event of a terrorist attack or natural disaster.

I'd like to see more large "municipalties" pursue some of the powers and entitlements of statehood -- :thumbsup

Not worried about it, but better safe then sorry.

I mean if they fly into a bhuilding there isn't much we can do. Besides that what a bomb? I would be more worried about the largest volcano erupting and filling the air with ash. http://lvo.wr.usgs.gov/zones/ which isn't much worry for me either :winkwink:

The states seem to be getting really ticked off with the feds. There's another state that is so ticked off about the borders that they're trying to pass legislation so that they will collect all the taxes, subtract the border protection costs and then forwrd the rest to the feds.. Getting really interesting south of the border.

I realize you are new here, but perhaps you have heard of these things we have called earthquakes.

And it isn't a matter of worrying about it, it is a matter of being able to take care of yourself for a few days without have to worry about whether or not the stores are still standing, or wondering when the cavalry will arrive.

LA = Los Angeles in this case (a city, not a state). The state of LA (Louisianna) isn't smart enough to take care of themselves.

Details.. details.. ok I admit it.. my brain wasn't working 100% when I responded.

The UK is so unprepared for extreme weather. In the summer now that it is hotter here we fuck up with lack of air conditioning. When it is really cold we fuck up. We have had one hurricane in the past century and that shut down most things for a few days. The only thing we are 100% ready for is terrorist attacks as we have had them for so long.

baddog 02-17-2006 01:54 AM

Everyone complains about the weather, but no one ever does anything about it.

c. Surely, you're not one of those bio-dome nuts? The smog is a result of the local topography and hyper-production of pollutants. If you put a dome around LA, the green house gases would build up so fast in that muthafuck, you'd have moss sproutin' outta nigga's heads -- :1orglaugh

I think I am missing something here, or you are. Where did the bio-dome comment come from?

Maybe. Define "do" something about it...

It was a joke Jack. I am not advocating the government do something about the weather. It is weather, and as such under the control of Mother Nature, and no government(s) is going to tell her what to do.

baddog 02-17-2006 02:12 AM

You crack me up sometimes. Thank you.

2HousePlague 02-17-2006 02:37 AM

You're welcome.

basschick 02-17-2006 02:42 AM

Relish XXX 02-17-2006 02:57 AM

We can do something about the weather which is called being enviromentally friendly.
