Not being able to walk sucks, so happy I finally can move again :)

Injured my ankle very bad 2 weeks ago during soccer. Went from hostpital to docter to physiotherapist and back.

Got some plaster bandage etc and they said, it would take around 8 weeks, before I could walk again.

Today(after almost 2 weeks) I came to the physiotherapist and it is going amazingly well. I probably can walk again next week!(this week already no more bandage, only a big strong 'sock')

I am so happy :)

Thought I share it with you because you wanna know :1orglaugh

glad to hear you are getting better.

Plaster bandage? Like a cast?

Bet you can't wait to get back to soccer! Don't push it too hard haha.

What you mean? I AM gloating? Not really. I am just happy that I can walk a lil again without pain and such. That is all.

Also shows how important health is. You just realize that when you are less lucky for a while :)

Roald 02-16-2006 02:48 PM

sissy!

;)))))

loverboy 02-16-2006 02:50 PM

seems you are recovering fast, keep it up

i was very athletic during my college years, even part of basketball
varsity team not until i tore my anterior cruciate ligament (or ACL),
took a year to heal and the possibility of not able to join the team
again was a hard and personal decision i had to bear for the rest of
my life. that was the end for my bright future as an professional player.

:smokin

I know you were not really gloating. I understand what you are saying as well. This coming from someone of course who can not walk at all. :winkwink:

In late 2001, I had to go in for emergency surgery for a brain aneurism.

I was paralyzed on my entire left side and was stuck in a wheelchair for weeks being told that I may never walk again.

I had to teach myself to walk all over again. Interesting dilema for someone in their early 40's.

Kudos to you on your recovery.

Just remember, if you try hard enough, and are too stubborn to give up, nothing is impossible.

Amazing how walking places becomes a joy and not an inconvenience when your perspective changes.

My Best to you,

Archer

Wow amazing story. I was not that 'bad' as you. Thanks for your good luck wishes anyway.

When I was a kid I didn't like playing any sport but basketball, but every now and then the other kids'd ask me to fill in, and put me at defence, and since I wasn't very good at it, I simply kicked the hell out of everybody that tried to go past me. That lasted for a while untill half the boys in the neighbourhood started limping, and one day some guy from the ohter team came to me and said "Dude, chill out, it's only a game, no need to criple us all"

haha, I guess I simply hate loosing

similar to what happened to my dad after suffering a stroke. I had to take care of him for a few weeks, I mean walk him outside the house to exercise his legs.

I hope for your speedy recovery, Andre

PixeLs 02-16-2006 06:59 PM
