They are angry at us because we are a civilized, advanced, world power. We are everything they wish they were. There is no U.S.S.R. anymore so by default, as the only big dog left, we become the bad guy.

I'm not sending anyone anywhere. Also, do you really need explaining on why Iraqi regime needed to be removed? And people who join the army usually have little or no choice where they are deployed. They join the army to protect their country and/or to earn an income. A lot of people also join to learn skills they could use in their lives or for work.
