sex cameras banned / .coms -> .prns
http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/interne...x.html?related
this is the part that is crazy: "Adults-only Internet domain The bill would also require Web sites containing pornography, hate speech or other material deemed harmful to minors to give up their ".com" Web addresses and register under an adults-only Internet domain such as ".prn."" |
"House Commerce Committee would seek to protect children from inappropriate online content by creating a kid-safe Internet space within the United States' ".us" domain. "
yeah yeah, the next matrix SE game will be based on .us domains Congress my ass |
hehe
|
hahaha that will be fun, I can see the email comin in already.
Dear sir we would like to inform you that you can't use .com domains anymore. Please go register at nic.prn new domains. DynaMite :1orglaugh |
I'd love to see them actually try to pass that shit. Domains are managed by an international body, and while the US might have some influence on them if they would like to, i don't see that shit ever coming to pass..
|
Would never work...
Who's going to pay the guy that owns sex.com and that's just 1. The pin heads that introduced this bill knows ZERO about the internet how it works... Nor will they in the future Know... They've got there heads up there poop shoot's. Dumb.... what the shit are they doing even wasting my tax dollars on this kind of insane shit. I swear some people have no ideal what Logic or common sense is. And people sent these Pin Heads to Washington to be our leaders.. This would cost 100's of millions $$$..if not Billions... |
imagine the dollars lost in having to release your .coms... no way that will pass.
|
Time to figure out what 2u's worth of space in my
basement rack is worth ...ship your boxes to Canada. What a silly idea! :1orglaugh |
it's not matter if it's gonna pass or not since there is no such authority on congress. Virtually they can restrict american parties, but of course this won't happen. It shows though the new trend to censor everything which is scary.

This goes right along with what
eroswebmaster & AaronM were trying to tell you people in another post... |
If they're doing the kid safe deal with the .us domains, why bother with the rest? all that the .prn deal would do is let the kids know exactly where to go to find it..
No matter the domain.. they don't look for .com when they look for porn.. they look for porn and it will be listed in the se's, be it .com, .net, .whatever.. They'll have to line item that bill to get the hidden cam stuff to fly. |
wrong post sorry
|
Aren't we doing enough to protect kids from porn? What kid hasn't seen a Playboy or a Penthouse.
The bill was probably encouraged by a bunch of parents who are too ignorant to teach their kids what they can and can't see. They probably spend most of their time out of town on vacation while Uncle Sam babysits. Losers. |
comparing playboy to internet porn is just dumb. a kid can't see explicit hardcore in playboy.
anyways, this bill is bullshit. it'll just be one huge mess. who gets the rights to a certain .prn domain when 3 different people already have .com net and org? |
Ah it's no biggie, I'll just lose all my traffic if I don't have my dotcoms anymore...
|
I agree with Scootermuze completely.
give us .prn and kids will visit .prn to see porn. you are not going to hide it. you have to wonder at the intelligence of some of the people who pass bills with the intent to solve a problem but end up solving nothing. |
That government can suck my balls.

Congress continues to show their ignorance regarding the internet. Makes me fuckin' laugh. Those arrogant dinosaurs should just go back to stealing from the congressional post office and lying to their constituents. It's really what they do best.
Also, shouldn't they be looking into things like the 1.2 trillion dollars that is missing from the department of defense. This will never pass... hahaha:ak47: |
and www.whitehouse.com proves it... it's so funny that they can do absolutely nothing about it.
