Microsoft Anti-Spyware?

Anyone tried it yet?

sicone 02-16-2006 12:10 AM

I use here at home and on my machine at work. Found a few that other programs missed.

Daruma 02-16-2006 12:11 AM

yes - but its never caught anything to be honest

JamesK2 02-16-2006 12:16 AM

I'm still with Ad-Aware Pro, it seems to do it's job.

Jace 02-16-2006 12:17 AM

been using it for a long ass time now, along with 2 other programs running continuously

gotta always have backups

I love MS anti-spyware though, it rocks

hey lens, what ever happened to that jacket?

LiveDose 02-16-2006 12:19 AM

It's good..I installed it when it came out..never removed it...does the job..although with firefox..its pretty much useless :)

Thurbs 02-16-2006 12:28 AM

hehe .. yah, i have it on some machines, pretty good stuff, its just a re-branded version of Giant Antispyware which they bought. Giant was known to be a very good antispyware.

SGS 02-16-2006 12:50 AM

Used it from the launch date. It's great and never had any problems at all.

Validus 02-16-2006 01:27 AM

I use it, does a good job. Extra level of protection.

It fixed that winfixer virus for me which nothing else could do !

After Shock Media 02-16-2006 01:58 AM

I been using it since it first came out. It found stuff that spybot and adaware pro had missed. It still catches the occassional thing that floats through yet I have had no serious issue like before since installing it.

nadanada 02-16-2006 02:00 AM

been using it about a year or a little more than that now, not bad. does not replace spybot and adaware though.

I haven't tried it yet and I'm gonna give it a shot now.

ShaneRyale 02-16-2006 10:13 AM

Definately the best one out by far. Microsoft always buys the best company and rebrands it with their name!

Not sure how much it will be when it goes out of beta, but I'll buy it for sure.

Hotrocket 02-16-2006 10:17 AM

yep..Ive had it since it was released..no probs at all...I believe its only found 1-2 items tho..I use ad aware too and I think its by far the best anti spyware there is.

TDF 02-16-2006 10:18 AM

its a good program to use as a combination with others

woj 02-16-2006 10:26 AM

yea, it's pretty good :thumbsup

johnnyhey 02-16-2006 10:32 AM

i like it and it's free

GatorB 02-16-2006 03:04 PM

MS anti-Spyware is actually a beta 1 the beta 2 came out on the 13th but they changed the name to Windows Defender. Here is the URL for the upgrade

$5 submissions 02-16-2006 03:09 PM

Well as much as I like it you really should use more than one anti-spyware program. Not necessarily at the same time. Never hurts to double check. Smart Computing Magazine rated Webroots Spy Sweeper the best and I will say that after downloading the trial and doing a sweep it caught shit that the beta1 MS anti-spy and Ad-Aware Personal never got.

LittleMack 02-16-2006 04:44 PM

Works very well for me

Manowar 02-16-2006 04:50 PM

never caught anything for me

That is one of the best products from M$. Beats most of the other spyware programs out there.

hova 02-16-2006 05:06 PM

I'm going to try it

Hmmm. Good point, GatorB. I'll look into it.
