His name is Robert Smith, and even if you don?t know his name you?ll never forget his face or his voice.

He portrays the kilt-wearing Scottish character in those ubiquitous Alexander Keith Beer commercials.

But now that famous voice may just be protesting his innocence after he was charged with three counts of possessing child pornography.

The 40-year-old was arrested on Tuesday after a month long investigation and was released on $2,500 bail 24 hours later.

The Canadian brewer previously indicated Smith had the potential to become the ?ultimate ambassador? for its product and had helped create the Great Scot.

But upon hearing of the charges Labatts promptly pulled all commercials in which the accused appeared in.

They also released this statement:

"We are surprised to learn of these charges today. Clearly, we have decided not to run any future television commercials featuring this actor until this information is confirmed.

If it is confirmed that this is the actor in question our commercials and any further association with him will be terminated."

Det. Const. Eduardo Dizon revealed that another man is also facing charges stemming an undercover operation.

Police allege that they've found over a thousand electronic files during their investigation with some of the images involving children as young as a year old.

Smith isn?t a star by any means but you?ve seen him in a number of other projects. He?s been in recent box office hits like ?Cinderella Man? which was shot on location in Toronto.

His release conditions include provisions prohibiting him from leaving the country, using any computers and staying out of public areas where children are likely to be.

He returns to court on Thursday.
