Anyone here CLUBBING in 1998-2000?

I am looking for the underground club hot tracks for this era. i had a crate of records snagged at a desert rave by some hoodlums that were with the production company and I lost some very hot tracks from that era. no more 3 day parties. :(

so, anyhow i really want to get these tracks from that era again, but i only know what my record labels look like on some of them.

i know theres alot of dance and club music enthusiasts here. any names of songs and remixes are appreciated.

seeric 02-15-2006 09:43 PM

I got it playing now. I can't seem to get into this type of music. It sounds dreamy and repetitive. I dunno reminds me of extasy.

Jace 02-16-2006 12:15 AM

I have hundreds of records from that time period....at least 300....

getting me to list them, then encode them from vinyl will take some serious grovling....I am fucking lazy

Clubbing is alot harder now. This stuff IS from the Ecstasy Era for sure. Clubbing now is more based on sex and pushing the limit than "feel good" like it was back then. I see your point. :)

XxXotic 02-16-2006 08:43 AM

lemme dig out me'crates :winkwink:

theres a time for it and a time not. women like it. thats basically what i care about. if the girls like it then the club feels it :winkwink:

there is something to be said for just knocking the paint off the walls and stirring people to a frenzy too. adrenaline is the ultimate drug.

yeah crazy huh? feels like 10 years ago to me too. whats funny is how fast the clubbing scene cycles in and out new people. being in it more than a few years makes you a veteran. i feel like a great grandfather being in it since 92 - 93.

That was a Golden Age for our generation in club and dance music. The pop charts during that time supported Hip-Hop dance and club styles like never before and perhaps never again. You almost couldn't find a Rock video on MTV 1995 through 1999

that was before the big Mp3 boom. this was when if a dj wanted to play cds in the club we threw rocks at em. :1orglaugh

nowadays everyone that has some cds and a 10 dollar mixer is a DJ.

vinyl rules. getting records stolen comes with the territory. every dj that travels alot has had some vinyl stolen, be it one track or a whole crate.

Me too.. always will be a classic..

I am quickly realizing that my memory from those times and before, have been efficiently erased.. except for random images of lights and dancing (and the beats of songs, I would know them if I heard them)

I always wish I could remember my favorite track names and such, I knew them all then.. but I guess it's just been too long :)

I went to clubs at that time but never bought any of the music. Didn't know who the artists were.

It seems like their is a massive electronica ghetto out there, millions of albums with music that has the exact same beat. Yet it's usually easy listening.

Since I started doin clubs in 98 (13 years old) I've had 6 crates stolen (mail crates 2x the size of milk crates) and over 2000 CD's jacked from me (at least 20 books of 100 cd's) defiitely part of the territory, why I usually wind up buying 3 copies of each track
