Porn Poker Tour in Phoenix - Need input please

Hi Everyone,

The Porn Poker Tour will be coming to Phoenix as the official closing party. We are going to do a 4 hour party and tournament and will post an official release soon. In the meantime, we are looking for input as we will follow the same format as our parties at Cybernet and Webmaster access LA and will have half of the room as a poker tourney and the other half with music and open bar for dancing and networking.

What we would like to know is if you all would prefer a DJ with dance music or to have "Webmaster Kareoke" with some good music and drunk webmasters singing in between?

Input please...

Kudos to the sponsors of the PPT:

we should just have you sing, and since you don't last very long in the tournament we wont have to wait too long.

ShellyCrash 02-15-2006 01:41 PM

I opt for Karaoke!!! But only if Dan will sing!

RainGurl 02-15-2006 01:46 PM

i'm up for watching karaoke, i think that would be fun, as well as provide blackmail material for years to come.

RRRED 02-15-2006 01:52 PM

Brad did a karoke thing in Vancouver one year and it was a frigging BLAST actually! Good idea!

Rand 02-15-2006 02:03 PM

Karaoke is fun if people are drunk enough.
DJ's are cool if they're good and there's room to dance!

Evil Chris 02-15-2006 02:09 PM

I say hire Green Day instead! :)

OY 02-15-2006 02:09 PM

Agreed. If they're not into it though, it could be a big dud.

Having a good Karaoke host is important in getting the crowd going...or filling time between "Singers".

Sorry, no.

I've just seen Karaoke done by guys that can both sing AND get the crowd up to sing...with people lined up. That's when it's fun.

But, I've also seen guys that couldn't sing for shit, NOR could they get the crowd up to sing. If that happens, it can be a big waste of time with people standing around waiting for someone to sing.

If I was booking it, I'd just get a good reference and see what they offer as far as hosting. If by hosting, they mean setting up the machine and just letting it go, I'd steer clear. If they actually sing and walk around having fun with the crowd, people will be more relaxed and willing to go up and sing...myself excluded of course.

HAPPYPEEKERS 02-15-2006 02:26 PM

I say DJ with Dance Music.. I can not wait!

Evil Chris 02-15-2006 02:27 PM

Ron sings a mean "Bud the Spud" after a few Cosmopolitans.

aahaha...

Don't know what's good or not, but it looks like a place to start.

MikeHawk 02-15-2006 07:17 PM

Karaoke

Mitch that would be super funny to watch!

Looking forward to seeing you in Phoenix, dont forget the 30th.:thumbsup

Sammy4u 02-15-2006 07:33 PM

I vote for music for at least the first 1 - 2 hours and then start the kareoke. Most won't have the balls to get up there and sign in front of people they do business with and people they don't know until they have a few drinks in them. Also more people will be available to participate since there will be alot of people knocked out of the Tournament by then. I think it would be a flop to do it from the begining.

Sammy4u 02-15-2006 07:35 PM

Also it might be good to try and get a idea on how many people would sing if we did it. Maybe post a poll here and see if anyone would have the balls to do it.

Kevsh 02-15-2006 07:37 PM

As long as the players have some access to the free bar, I won't complain
(i.e. have waitresses - the cute ones from LA would be nice - bring around the free drinks while we play)

Rochard 02-15-2006 08:09 PM

Need Naked Chicks!

Fetish 02-16-2006 10:01 AM

Kareoke would be alot of fun once people start drinking. Good idea.

NETbilling 02-16-2006 03:44 PM

Sounds like Kareoke with a DJ to start will be a hit.

Thanks for the input and let me know if you know of anyone up to the task of working this event.

Mitch

CyberAgeGary 02-16-2006 04:42 PM

Hello Mitch,

Why don't you have an agreement with all poker players, that once they get knocked out of the tourney, they have to stand up and at least sing a note or two of any song that they want, that would be fun...
