I have a Feeling that the sig market is going to come back in the near future.
 

I think the value of the exposure of one's sig is a bit underpriced right now. By no means do I think it will ever go back to what it was in 2004. But for the same amount of $ you spend on skinning GFY, you can have every post whore wearing your sig for months.

sig whoring may have declined, but it is still a booming market

it just takes a valuable poster and member of gfy to get good deals now

It never really went away.......The huge #'s are not there like they used to be, but still very decent $:winkwink:

yup, sure is...if you can do it up right you can buy beer and alcolhol for the whole month off your sig money :) that is what I use it for, and i drink a LOT...haha

there maybe alot of surfers, but who cares about them. The goal is to get webmasters attention about the program and Sig's do about as good of a job as regular banners if not better. And they are much cheaper.

If I drank all my sig money away in a month, I'd have no liver left :(

The market isn't dead. It just became segmented among differing price points depending a) objectives and b) delivery agent. Top tier: recognizable nicks pushing your stuff, holding contests, holding Q + A, and just being "semi-reps" for your product. Mid tier: Webmasters paid per post to participate Mass tier: Paid branders. Another point of distinction: Are you paying for sigs on people who have connections and can, indirectly/subtly, influence their friends? OR are you paying for branding? Finally, price point shifts--more expensive re more targetted campaigns, cheaper on branding campaigns.

Just my personal observations. Others may differ :)

People still will pay for top sig space. And its just as lucrative marketing your own stuff too.
