Warning!! EBay should be shut down

EBay, and particularly EBay stores, are so full off 'shill bidding' that it has destroyed the entire idea of the site. It should be shut down immediately as the powers that be at EBay don't give a shit and refuse to even respond to my email enquiries regarding shill bidding! :321GFY

(BTW - have you even tried to complain to EBay lately? They push you onto their FAQs and make it hard to actually even lodge a complaint - you must send them the bidders name, the sellers name, the item code..blah blah....)

Buyer beware! :warning See for yourself! Log onto EBay and check out who is bidding against who - you will see heaps of the higher priced items in EBay stores are being bid on by members with 0-5 feedback items....they are shill bidders created by the seller to force the auction price upward...!!!

The seller doesn't care if he wins his own auction, he will simply relist the item until an unsuspecting noob buys it from him for an inflated auction price.

I used to shop at EBay, but not anymore......pity......

EBay has been raped of it's innocence. :(

Relish XXX 02-15-2006 12:49 AM

OK so this doesnt happen at auctions all over the world everyday? Whent he auction was invented the shill bidder was invented about 30 seconds after.

Haydos 02-15-2006 12:56 AM

Good point!

Doesn't explain away EBay's reluctance to act on preventing it.

At least at a Real Estate Auction the Agents Bid is announced to all attending.....and it is generally aimed at starting the auction, not repeatedly driving the price up - or being the only other bidder as per EBay!

So explain to me if you and everyone knows of shill bidding on EBay - why are so many people buyers??

EBay must be breaching Fair Trading laws in nearly every country the operate from!

Ebay turned to shit about 3 years ago

flashfire 02-15-2006 01:02 AM

bid what you think is a good price and not a penny more, that way you cant lose

Haydos 02-15-2006 01:04 AM

that's what I tell people who WANT to play on EBay...

If the seller wins, he will soon relist the item and you can bid again....

Or shop around, there are plenty of Mums and Dads on Ebay who are genuine sellers.....

Beware of the EShops.......bastards.........

If eBay shut it would mean taking your rubish out to the kerb once a week again like in the old days.

shermo 02-15-2006 01:57 AM

That's generally why I stick to "Buy it now" auctions.

Doctor Dre 02-15-2006 02:08 AM

well lets say you're willing to pay $100 for something, and you get it for $100. whats the problem? besides... no one is forcing you to buy stuff on ebay.

i love ebay i see nothing wrong with it. to many people want something for nothing. i think the seller has the right not to get low balled. you get a discount on just about everything on ebay.

Tempest 02-15-2006 02:33 AM

I wonder how much Gene charges for shill bidders....

sticki 02-15-2006 04:49 AM

I just hate how sellers blackmail you by saying they won't leave feedback until feedback is left for them and if you leave them negative, they'll leave you negative. That's bs. What if the item is clearly crap when the description said and showed it was good? If I pay first, I want my feedback first. EOS.

He'll still have to pay the auction fees for the won auction :2 cents:

kidcreme 02-15-2006 06:09 AM

Sometimes funds needs to cleared so I try not to hurry with feedbacks...

jjjay 02-15-2006 06:23 AM

as soon as ebay read this thread they'll sell their stock, sack all staff, and close down operations - I'm sure of it! complaining on a message board is just that powerful!!
