Juicy D. Links 02-14-2006 12:35 PM

Juicy D. Links 02-14-2006 12:36 PM

polish_aristocrat 02-14-2006 12:37 PM

no, I only care when sponsor y releases new site

boldy 02-14-2006 12:37 PM

some of them yes

chadglni 02-14-2006 12:37 PM

That would be like caring every time an $8 an hour employee left the local hardware store.

pornstar2pac 02-14-2006 12:37 PM

I deeply care about it

I prefer sponsor y to sponsor x. I hear from a disgruntled employee that sponosr x shaves but dont worry as all stats are being tracked.

HaHa, now thats an analogy!

Actually in some cases it's helpful, so that I can keep up on the wherabouts of some of the folks I work with.

If ya don't care, then don't click there thread. It's easy.

SmokeyTheBear 02-14-2006 12:40 PM

guess it all depends on the rep.. If the rep got screwed and that rep was why i was with the company then yes

I suppose it mostly depends on what that rep offered me as an affiliate..

Mostly the reason who you hear those announcements isnt so everyone gets the news its so that affiliates know the person doesnt represent their company any more.

seeric 02-14-2006 12:41 PM

the trolls make this industry look worse than it really is. people leave companies for reasons, and people who don't know those reasons make up whatever sounds cool to them.

adultchica 02-14-2006 12:41 PM

Only if it's Loryn or Ramos or Laura Lee from TCG :-)

Sarah_Jayne 02-14-2006 12:41 PM

if they are my account rep I would care

justsexxx 02-14-2006 12:47 PM

SOmetimes. When it's a rep, that is sooooo long with the company yes. I mean for example when BT says I am moving to ARS, yeah that would be news...

When sales rep 6463274234284623 is moving after 3 months, I don't really care

Babagirls 02-14-2006 12:48 PM

i could care less.

Yup..if its a well known name i read the thread but some of these people change jobs faster than i change my shorts and i wonder do we really need an anouncement about it every other month.

BobG 02-14-2006 12:49 PM

I actually would care if it was my main rep guy because he really does go all out to help me.

Phoenix 02-14-2006 12:50 PM

some of you guys have egos so big it must be hard to walk through doors

Pornwolf 02-14-2006 01:22 PM

I care about Laura Lee and that bald guy BT too. ;)

Soul Rebel is pretty helpful and some others are for sure but I can't think of many I would actually care about. But then I don't ask for much so there isn't a lot of rappaport with everyone.

Very few reps are helpful and some are even counterproductive. I can think of a few times when I was planning to send traffic somewhere then a rep spams me on ICQ or Email repeatedly and it made me say fuck em.

Dirty Dane 02-14-2006 01:24 PM

yes. those on ICQ

DutchTeenCash 02-14-2006 01:28 PM

I dont care no, as long as it doesnt affect biz. Im not there to make sweet love to all the sales reps. Some are cool and do favors and get them, some come n go.

Funny Im suddenly realising an old sales rep is a personal friend of me now lol

baddog 02-14-2006 01:38 PM

isn't the point to let you know "don't contact me about company x, because I no longer work there?"

I think that info should be helpful if you deal with that rep or that company.

That would be the original idea, yes, but when someone is with a different company every 3-6 months it gets pretty ridiculous... don't you think? If a long time rep and "staple" of a company leaves... then yes, it is definitely newsworthy. If a "fly by night" leaves and then joins another company only to leave and join another company again... who cares?

Some work situations really are pretty poor... but on the same note, I think some reps need to realize the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. Furthermore, how much can you really get done within 3-6 months?

beemk 02-14-2006 01:53 PM

i would only care if they were my rep for that company and did a good job.... which is few and far between.

Agreed. I made the same mistakes.

At one show I was talking to someone... he asked me about doing business with XYZ. I replied and told him I was no longer working with XYZ. He said "man you're all over the place, I can't keep track of what you're doing!" That's when it pretty much hit me.

That's why I announced I was leaving. Not that it helped - 2.5 months later I still get ICQs from people thinking I'm with WEG :thumbsup

WiredGuy 02-14-2006 02:22 PM

I do care if its with a company I work with and deal with that person regularly.

ie: BigB from CECash, Thurbs from Silvercash for example (or formerly I should say).

WG

lazycash 02-14-2006 02:26 PM

I usually don't care, but je_rome leaving Klikrevenue and joing Vitasoy Inc. should have received more attention than it did.

you said you're leaving and going back to school ?( or a maintream job? )

but it looks like you rather took another job in this industry....

Furious_Male 02-14-2006 02:39 PM

Its nice to know what popular reps are going where in the industry.

polish_aristocrat 02-14-2006 02:41 PM

btw if long term reps leave its kinda funny

for me still Adrian works for Silver Cash and Media for EpicCash and Roger for Pornkings :error

GlydeGirl 02-14-2006 02:45 PM

Whether or not you care... it IS valid news for this message board when people change jobs in this industry...

Most of you folks are so busy with bullshit / jerk-off / drama threads that you forget this is a business networking forum too!

The company should do that. They are the ones that replace the line of support.

When the former employee makes the post, it is because they want another job. If I left Weg and was seeking new employment, I would make a post soliciting companies looking for my services.

same here. I never left on bad terms with any of the companies I was with. I was simply being greedy and not looking at the bigger picture. Now im in a situation that I am totally happy with and learning a great deal more than just being a rep.Once you find the fit you must acquit!

You have a great attitude, hopefully people take note.

I do everything I can to stay with Weg, even if that means working with Gabe.

Obviously things and scenarios change, however much thought should be involved before leaving IMO.

$5 submissions 02-14-2006 03:46 PM

It depends on how CRUCIAL the rep is re 1) helping me with marketing tools 2) getting special deals going 3) facilitating webmaster support issues 4) listening to feedback from webmasters re improving their program. The best reps I've dealt with that actually deal with all the 4 items above are Bruce M from Leading Edge, aj from AAC, and Jack Mardack (aka 2HP) formerly of AFF. I'm sure there are many other reps that deal with the 4 items I outlined above, I just posted the ones I have personally worked with in the past 6 years.

Doctor Dre 02-14-2006 04:12 PM

Not really unless it's the rep associated to my account... sales rep still take care of at least a couple dozen people, so when they leave a compagny, they gotta let thoses people know

Okay, let's say that is true . . . and the problem is what?

Rui 02-14-2006 05:30 PM

lots of hating in this thread....

EroticySteve 02-14-2006 05:55 PM

I absolutely care if someone that works at a company leaves.

Depending on who they are and what their role with the company was it would make a big difference on whether or not I can or should work with them.

In business, the relationships you make are often with people and not with numbers or websites.

Plus many of the people you speak with on a daily basis are here at GFY. It's good to know when things change.

gecko 02-14-2006 05:59 PM

Only if they were my rep
