Celeb profiles on Myspace - real or fake
 

For sure some are real but some profiles are just screaming fake. But knowing Myspace i doubt they will allow that? I mean some of those profiles have 1000's of friends. Would myspace and/or the celeb allow a huge fake profile like that?

i know for sure a few of them are real (dane cook, i interviewed him about it), and Billy Corgan, but come to think of it i havent noticed any other big names on there. which ones do you think are fake?

I have a few "celebs" on my list. 1 or 2 are real i think but one profile of one of the olsen twins just has to be fake. But her profile is quite big with many friends and other celebs. But ofcourse those celebs could be fake as well...it could be one bored kid doing this.

And yeah Billy Corgan is real.

I think many are real... it's just that it's their PR people who make and maintain them.

Oh yeah that too. But then it's obvious...

I don't really care...it's not like i put them in my top 8 friends and act as if we're buddies.

exactly,hell my friends indie band has someone from their label who handles their myspace and their not on a major..

i know carson dailys is real.

Maybe there are few ones that are real but I just doubt most of them.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federlines are real as they set them up to try to help him sell his record via Yahoo tunes.

Some celebs have real profiles that they use to get feedback from fans, like Nine Inch Nails, and some other bands.

i think that is one way of publicity, that is to keep their fans updated about them.

Im real sista !

Speaking from the experience of our company, there are a TON of people attempting to impersonate celebrities, pornstars, etc.

EVERY day we have to have profiles killed for impersonating our contract girls. With that said, Jay and Jenna both keep profiles and LOVE myspace. They are consistently in the top 10 viewed blogs. :)
