I prefer wires simply because if there's a problem I'll know rightaway rather than waiting a week to find out that it's lost.

Checks are good for smaller amounts.

Epass is good for smaller amounts and to keep a few bucks for little contract jobs that will get paid through it or if I know I'm heading to the States and can withdraw US without paying an exchange rate.
