It's hard to compare the life of a civilian to someone in charge of running the most important country in the world. To us, their lives look simple, they have assistance on every menial task of their lives. They may even have someone to hold the tissue while they blow their noses. To you and I this looks luxurious and perhaps frivolous but I don't think that's a fair judgement.
Most people who are in important positions, typically in the private sector, have assitance with many aspects of their lives. How many Billionaires mow their own lawns? How many Public company CEO's iron their own shirts?
You can argue that some do. I'm sure that's true, but Cheney and Bush are two of the most powerful, important and influential people in the world. To use a few tax dollars to make sure that they are trying to run their lives properly is okay with me.
All of this was an accident and totally blown out of proportion. It's got to be painful for everyone involved and the media attention is only an unneeded distraction.

So what he is saying, is he using his "staffers" whom are on govt payroll, paid for by myself and everyone else in this country, to plan out his little hunting vacations.
Not that it's any big surprise or anything but I find it a little annoying that tax payers are flipping the bill for his vacation plans.
