i'm suprised they are even holding mardi gras isn't that area still all fucked up...

bourbon street only got a few inches of water. The french quarter got off without much damage at all. Was mostly the ghetto areas that flooded worst.

I'll be here for the gras, but it's not like I really need to travel to be there :winkwink:

I am glad to hear they are going forward with Mardi Gras. The only hope to rebuild the city is to rebuild the tourist industry.

I hope they have a great crowd and that everyone has a blast!

Most of the cheaper hotel rooms are booked out to hurricane victims still, so there isn't much place for drunk college girls and other horny babes to stay. As a result, the party might go on, but I think it will be fairly lame this year.

At least New Orleans keeps trying.
