Tell me why is it better to have
 

Hi All,

I have a question.
Why is it better to have all your domains on a seperate IP address ?
My new host has put them all on one ip address and I remember that in the old days people said you should have them seperated.

Better for search engines purposes.

It's just helpful in SEO.

from my understanding, google's patent will consider same IP cross linking as spamming the engine.

But from what I read, it hasn't started yet. plus IPs with multiple domains on them seem to get spidered more frequently (at least on my box).
