Cheap domain prices?

I was wondering what are some sites for cheap domain names?? I refuse to be fucked around by register.com anymore..holla

cable53 04-19-2002 05:20 AM

www.godaddy.com is cheap and good, i think it's $8.95 for a year and cheaper if you register for more years.

chodadog 04-19-2002 05:25 AM

I used godaddy. But their support is terrible. Just hope to god any querey you have is covered in the FAG. Cuz they sure as hell don't get back to you within the 10-12 hours that they say. But yeah, very cheap. Someone else pointed out a registar that did 7.95 domains. That's the cheapest i've seen. Forgotten the URL though.

SIG357 04-19-2002 05:32 AM

Namecheap

Trax 04-19-2002 05:33 AM

are they solid??

DigitalPimpShit 04-19-2002 05:41 AM

http://www.powerpipe.com
7.99 per domain

SIG357 04-19-2002 05:58 AM

Namecheap has worked fine for me. Quick reply to questions etc.
Power Pipe looks pretty good too.

If you ask me I'd go with cheaper domains only for short term biz or if I wanted to buy a TON of type-ins. With cheaper domains you are at greater risk of losing them when companies go to shit and you can get worse support/admin panel, whatever... You get what you pay for.

I use directnic as they are just awesome, but yes they cost $15 which I think is not what you are looking for.

If you want to use register.com for 8.88/domain, go to their namebargain.com site.

http://www.reg2c.com

$6.95 !

I've never used them though.

winter 04-19-2002 09:07 AM

well they changed it, now it's $74.50 for 10...

I think powerpipe is $7.99 now...

TDF 04-19-2002 09:23 AM

im looking for 15 dollars and below...anything is better than register.com and their 60 dollars for 2 years bullshit

Jer 04-19-2002 09:55 AM

http://www.dotster.com - $15

I have all my 10 domains with them. They're pretty good.

sandman! 04-19-2002 11:04 AM

Got 50 domains over at http://www.registerfly.com been happy with the service $9.99 a year

Phil21 04-19-2002 04:59 PM

Not super cheap or anything, but bulkregister.com works for us. Great admin functions and they get down to $10/ea if you register 50 in the same month (the price stays at $10/ea after that forever).

DatsMyStapler 04-19-2002 07:00 PM

thats godaddy I think 8.95http://www.thugcash.com/.

RaGe 04-19-2002 08:42 PM

I'm using godaddy, seems alright. The only thing I don't like is the amount of offers they have on the register forms for any domain  Sooo much spam.. The site is pretty messy too. But, its cheap! :thumbsup

Rictor 04-19-2002 08:43 PM

$15 at directnic.com

Dreamman010 04-19-2002 08:49 PM

One thing - never buy from RegisterFly.

Pornwolf 04-19-2002 08:52 PM

Namecheap... 8.88. Great support and good admin panel.

money4all 04-19-2002 11:43 PM

RegisterFly is solid like a rock!
$9.99/yr for a new domain and $8.99 to renew it!

ZatCHICKPIXXX 04-19-2002 11:58 PM

4Pics 04-20-2002 12:48 AM

I was told a few, and went with namecheap
its very easy to use and $8.88 a name don't really need to get cheaper then that.

Admin area is great!

If making a negative post about a company it would be good if you would give a reason for it.

WHY don't you like RegisterFly... Problems with them etc etc?? ... DETAILS PLEASE :)

I use Dotster for stuff I want still for I kinda worry about 3rd party registrars, ones that pass your desired domain name through a couple of other registrars/domains etc before they can complete the transaction. Am kinda worried that if one of the 3rd party sites they register through has a bot or something for HOT keywords in domain names they may reserve/hold it before I get a chance to buy it, then someone gets to eyeball it to see if it's good or bad and then keeps it to try to sell at inflated price or something.

Have ALWAYS got what I wanted at Dotster, nice and secure... But it is $14.95/yr.
