For my own sites I haven't used a virtual host since 1998 prolly... (the base plans were probably 50 bucks a month back then).

I've used dreamhost on my moms / family site for over a year without any major problem / major downtime .

Support isn't fast, but for the price/quality, it's a pretty damn good offer... ;) suits the need of this website at 100 %

If you were talking about Apache Virtual hosts, I'd have to say "satan.dev.com", I use for testing at work.

However, I don't think you were referring to that.

I recommend Oxeo.com or Phatservers.net

HostGator got a couple accounts there for friends/family sites, havent had problems with them at all
