Do all domain companies suck?

Is the low margins? But there shit is so hard to figure out and then does not work half the time. I am trying to renew at registryfly as I cannot get the domain unlocked to transfer and their system does not work to renew. Then try and the phone number and it just rings and rings. Gotta love this shit.

/rant over.

jacked 02-09-2006 10:20 AM

shit like that always happens when your dealing with larger companies...

polish_aristocrat 02-09-2006 10:21 AM

Lycanthrope 02-09-2006 10:21 AM

Namecheap all the way.

Been using them for about 3 years now, I've never even thought of looking for anyone else.

Tried about 6-7 before I found them and noone came close.

AsianDevil 02-09-2006 11:27 AM

I've had very good luck with GoDaddy.

wm_cibi 02-09-2006 11:31 AM

I bought 100+ domains on domain elephant yesterday.. I love them :thumbsup

webair 02-09-2006 12:21 PM

Use Moniker or TuCows if your domains are worth more than the reg fees.

Verbal 02-09-2006 01:13 PM

never had a problem with NameCheap

everestcash 02-09-2006 01:24 PM

had a problem with registerfly a few days ago too, with their nameservers.
i use godaddy also, seems fine

SlickCash 02-09-2006 01:32 PM

moniker is great

G-Rotica 02-09-2006 01:43 PM

I use NameCheap and have some domains still at goDaddy. Both have been good.

jjjay 02-09-2006 01:47 PM

what's tucows like then?

moniker's soooo expensive in comparison to namecheap....

Peaches 02-09-2006 01:49 PM

I use directnic and I've always been able to contact at least one of the owners if there's a problem (which has only happened twice and both times were my error). I'd rather pay a bit higher price for something that can totally screw me up if it goes wrong.

slapass 02-10-2006 08:35 AM

I use Godaddy. No one can claim they are easy to deal with. they at least answer the phone.

Namecheap i am new too and have not had to do much there. I did notice that unlocking was not obvious or I missed it or i am confusing them.

you're tempting fate using godaddy

do a search

polish_aristocrat 02-10-2006 09:23 AM

im so scared of Godaddy nowadays that I am counting the days till a domain that i bought via Godaddy recently ( pushed to my Godaddy account by the seller ) will be possible to transfer to NameCheap

btw Dotster gave me same ( or similar ) pricing to NameCheap, and I keep my better domains there, since Dotster is an registrar and NameCheap just a reseller of Enom, but I find NameCheap way easier to navigate

ssp 02-10-2006 09:25 AM

no it's just registerfly. for some reason i knew you were going to complain about registerfly when i read the thread title.

Purple Haze 02-10-2006 04:59 PM

I use Namecheap mostly but I'm going to check that out since you recommend it.

Whatever you guys do, stay away from 1&1 !!! It has the worst administration panel I have ever used.

BSleazy 02-10-2006 05:20 PM

I've sold a bunch of domains that I had registered with Yahoo and they are still listed in my account and one was just rebilled. Now I have to find a # for support and get it sorted out

aflex 02-10-2006 05:22 PM

Enetica is absolutely BULLSHIT.. i'm basically losing a domain because they do not respond to ANY communication. ICANN is doing nothing. i'm hopeless here.

DaddyHalbucks 02-10-2006 05:27 PM

Use Moniker www.moniker.com

They are terrific!

futa 08-25-2006 04:58 PM

Namecheap Suck

Whoever said Namecheap are the best - please this is not so.

I too was happy with namecheap until the day they locked me out of my account until the year 2099.

"Fraud dept locked it, we will contact you to confirm some transactions"

2 months later where am I? Still locked out with no progress. They will not call me, i have emailed them numerous times, phoned, faxed all to no avail.

I am so desperate now I am calling their provider Enom, namecheap are just a reseller - I am hoping Enom can unlock my domains so I can get out of this fucking bullshit company Namecheap.

I did...fuck them.

I let a domain slip by 1 day. When I asked them how much to pay extra to re-reg it (it was still able to be acquired back) they didn't respond to my inquiries.

If this had been with Joker or Moniker or another registrar I could have just paid a few extra bucks and got it back.

namecheap is great for throw away domains but I wouldn't 'keep' any serious ones there for the long haul...

futa 08-26-2006 01:41 AM

Yeah i'm learning the hard way :Oh crap

I have 5 domains that I don't care too much about, but one that I do. I am gonna stick with a local (Australian) company from now on.

The ironic thing is I changed from Godaddy to Namecheap after reading some horror stories, now I'm stuck in the very situation I wanted to avoid :1orglaugh

Fizzgig 08-26-2006 02:22 AM

Sure they do.

MacDevilish 09-26-2006 02:24 PM

Not all registrars suck... well... at least WE don't suck at Moniker. So, that's one that doesn't, at least!

squishypimp 09-26-2006 02:29 PM

switch to www.godaddy.com

Roberto the Perverto 09-26-2006 02:32 PM

I used to use GoDaddy, until they started jerking me around with my adult domains.
I owe a thanks to Moniker for being there for me ASAP.

bobby666 09-26-2006 02:37 PM

i also prefer namecheap, never had any troubles yet
