Aussie Rules Footy is tougher then NFL

No pads, no switching defence and offensive teams, no TV commercial breaks, bigger playing field, no defensive lines, contact from all sides...need I continue! :321GFY

Evil1 02-09-2006 07:23 AM

hey, isnt that the sport where they huddle up in a group around a ball and shove their fingers in each others asses to break the opposing teams concentration?

seeric 02-09-2006 07:24 AM

what's the point?

FlogTheLog 02-09-2006 07:25 AM

nah, thats National Rugby League...similar to NFL but also less padding....they are pretty tough too !!

I like NFL, Aussie rules (AFL), rugby union, rugby league. they are all ball sports but that's where the similarities really should end, I don't see how you can accurately compare them. being hit by any of these guys whether they are a 350 pound NFLer or a 220 pound no fat ripped super fit League or AFL player would hurt 99% of the population regardless. there is skill in every game and I continue to enjoy them all! :thumbsup

Rugby and NFl football are 2 differant games..I enjoy watching aussie rules rugby

mikeyddddd 02-09-2006 09:15 PM

Yep. That's why the only ones that have made it in the NFL are girlie-mans punters. There's not enough money in rugby or Aussie rules to attract the NFL players; except for the ones that were too sorry to make a NFL team anyway.

Don't get me wrong. They are fun to watch, but so are the Arena League and the CFL. They're just not up to NFL quality.

i've played both. rugby doesn't have the big hits that you see in football.

TreasureBucks 02-09-2006 10:05 PM

remove the pads in the nfl , and people are likely to killed.
They would have to rewrite the rules so much to make it safe, it wouldnt be football, in fact, you'd probably think you were watching flag football.

Lomu Haka Pic - kiwigirl and I lived in the same neigborhood in NZ as Jonah, and Kiwi met him on a few occasions while bartending at a local pub.

The Haka is one of the scariest sites in sport....full stop !!!

NaughtyRob 02-09-2006 11:54 PM

Rugby kicks ass. I like playing it on XBox too.

reed_4 02-10-2006 01:16 AM

It's just your opinion but dude nothing beats NFL. :thumbsup

chadglni 02-10-2006 01:24 AM

You know, I see these arguments on here all the time. Football (NFL) must not come off as tough on TV but I guarantee most every one of you would end up with a concussion and / or broken bones if you stepped on the field. It's rare to play even a friendly game of football without someone getting hurt pretty bad. The pads are on to keep people alive, not to stop the hits from hurting because trust me it still fucking hurts!
