DVD to IPOD easy steps please...

Ok, so adding MP3's was easy, it did everything on Auto..
Now I put a DVD in the drive...
I guess I need a program to RIP the DVD.
Please suggest a good one.
Then I guess I need a Program to convert it to mp4
then add it to Playlist?????
