How did your family react when you told them you work in adult?

Did they think it was great or no big deal, or did they freak? Did they not care as long as youre happy and making money?
How did they react to you when you told them?

Well, my mom is always making jokes about it but my parents don't mind at all - my grandma laughed about it too but didn't really take it as too serious.

I'm not close to my family so I don't tell them much of anything regarding my life let alone what I do. It's basically none of their business. I'm an adult and independent, what I do is no one's business but my own. I support myself 100% so therefore I don't feel like I owe anyone an explanation whatsover. I simply do as I wish.

Once I left home my life is my own and I don't need to explain anything to anybody.

Two weeks ago you were saying you don't do anything within the adult industry yet. Do you tell your family that you do to sound like a rebel?

I was in college and not asking for money from my mom. I finally just told her and showed her a few check stubs and that was it haha.

I work mainstream also, so I use that as my cover. They don't have to know :)

My dad is the only person I've told. Apparently he told his wife. Over Christmas I was doing some work and she says to me "your dad really likes your sites." I didn't know what to think, he doesn't know my sites and quite honestly all of my sites pretty much suck, so I ask her what she meant. She says "he checks out that BangBus site quite often." I about died laughing.

Everybody except mom wanted passwords. LOL

It has been beaten to death, but none the less - Mom didn't care. Dad was pissed. Brothers wanted passwords.

Dad got over it after a little education on the industry, but it's still never talked about when I go home to visit, which is fine by me, I'd prefer not to take work home with me anyways.

my mom was surprised and said that even though it wasn't her first choice of a career for me that she was ok with it as long as i wasn't in danger of hurting myself.

I got kicked out of my house and told not to return until I stopped working in adult....I was real young at the time and my mother thought I would be back that night with a new profession....

I never returned home.

The oldest one knows. He was freaked in the beginning, because he was sure I was being stupid and would get ripped off. However, once the checks started coming in, and he realized I was actually paying the bills with it, he shut up.

My family is very religious (Southern Baptist). Most of them think that I just write text for the internet...which, 5 years ago was true. My mother, whom I'm most honest with, still doesn't quite "get it", but she's still supportive. On one hand, when I go out of town for shoots, she doesn't get what I'm "shooting" and asks all sorts of detailed questions that I know she doesn't want the full answers to ("DP on Thursday, girl/girl on Friday, gangbang on Saturday, Mom"). On the other hand, she was extremely supportive when I was flipping out over 2257 shit a few months ago...so go figure.

The rest of my family sees me as the "black sheep", weirdo of the bunch. So, they don't know exactly what I do, but they know it's in the entertainment biz (as it always has been...music biz before this), and that's strange and weird enough for them.

My mother flipped out and kicked me out of the house when i was 17. I moved in with my father and he didn't like it till i was making mroe than both my parents put together. Also when I was 17.

I did the same thing. I signed up with google adwords and cj.com, and made a fake mainstream website with links to the sites I promote.
So now when someone wants to see me work I can just fire up Google and put in some bullshit clean mainstream ads promoting computers or cell phones or whatever, and I show them how I get links off of CJ.

Its nice having a cover biz because in the past when people asked what I did or wanted to see me work Id get totally caught off guard and basically eating shit trying to get out of it. So Im sure they were thinking that somethings up.
Now I have a real thing I can show people.
