Business or Project ideas

Please entertain this hypothetical question if you have a minute. Assume that the following is true:
  • You want to create something new over the next year or so.
  • You have 30 hours a week of free time.
  • You are a highly skilled Web developer/code monkey.
  • You have no design-sense, but could pay for design.
  • You are not exactly a usability expert, but could also usability consulting.
  • You do not have to worry about income for the next year.
  • You have to stay within the realm of creating a Web-based application that is meant to run on your own server - not write a TGP script or something along those lines with the intent of selling it to others to put on their servers.

What would you do? Basically, if you found yourself suddenly with a bunch of free time and the desire to build

something, what would it be? My problem is that I am 100% ability, but 0% direction and creativity. I am more the type of person that can hear "I need this end result. Build it." And I could go do it, but I'm not the type who could think of what to build. What I do doesn't necessarily have to be adult-related, but I think it's more interesting than building something for the other industries I know.

Thanks for any input, whatsoever.

Do you really expect honest responses in this thread? You intent is commendable, but why would someone give you the next GREAT idea?

It doesn't hurt to ask. Some people have more ideas than time, ability, or dedication.

What you need is a partner. That way when someone says "build this" and you do, you aren't stuck with a flat fee but a chance to make money for years to come.

obvious follow up -- how do we get in touch with you if we have an appropriate web application venture for you to pursue?

Private Message is probably best.

Thank you

Overscore ... I might have something for you to consider

I'm just the opposite, an idea and creative thinking person with no time to implement!

Do you have a tight suit with the letters C.O. on the front Captain Obvious?

Overscore 02-07-2006 08:35 PM

Either this is new, or I haven't checked for quite a while, but I now see that PM is disabled.

Please feel free to contact me at frank.favinger at gmail dot com.

Thank you
