Tourist Plane Just Hit 30 Story Building In Italy
 

Breaking news on CNN

Yup, its on the BBC..looking for a link. In the heart of Milan, apparently and next to a railway station. The building is the tallest in Milan, according to the BBC.

The explosion was said to be very powerful. The journalist said it isn't near an airport.

At the moment their reports are differing between wether the plane hit the 5th or the 25th floor.

The Italian Sennate President is calling it terroism but who knows because it just happened.



My thoughts are with anyone that is in Milan or has relatives there.

They say the pilot of the plane radioed saying he lost control.

CNN is reporting a good chance of mechanical problems, not terrorists. Still looks like it sucks, tho.

ok - not too much info yet on the plane crash in italy - a small tourist plane hit the 26th floor of the tallest building in milan - the italian government is reported to say that they think it is a terrorist attack - not too much else yet

Yeah we are hearing that too but it is sounding like people still aren't sure about what happened. The Italian Tv is saying it is 'very probably a terrorist incident'

The hole in the building is huge for the size of the building.

If you recall a few months ago people were arrested in Italy walking around with maps of the water and sewer systems.

I hope it is an accident but we will find out in due course.

Looks like it was an accident...

so did the WTC at first. Then the second plane came.

Hence why it is always important for me to prepare myself for the worst and feel good when and if it turns out to be wrong.

Hopefully it's mechanical problems, it surely could be. We had a couple of them here in the States after 9/11. It's still alerting though.

Accident? Well, if the Italian pilots are anything like the Italian drivers - it is most likely an accident.

I'm not going to jump to any conclusions...I hate these breaking news stories because they change so often throughout the day let alone the first hour.

There are conflicting reports where this plane originated from...there are conflicting reports on the size...and there are conflicting reports on whether or not there was an S.O.S. call.

I'm hoping that it was just an accident...Lord knows that would be terrible enough. But in this day and age you just never know anymore.

Not really...apparently it housed a lot of government offices.

But more than likely it is still just an accident.

In the plane there was only one person (the pilot);
He reported mechanical/engine failure before crash;
"Only" one fatality (the pilot)

Also is the tallest building in the city and a landmark the city is proud of.

Which, it both a reason for terrorism AND a reason for a tourist plane to be sightseeing. Who knows.

reported mechanical failure.
fire put-off.

But then the guy just happens to crash into the tallest (32 stories) buiding there.

hmmm. maybe he had an ex-wife that worked there..
