Patents

But seriously now - has anybody ever attempted or succeeded in registering a patent on anything online adult entertainment?

Has anybody ever gone after a competitor infringing on a patent? Did they win?

Does it make sense to protect an idea as a patent?

Or is it a waste of time and money?

Thanks Kat.

Thing is, when you have an idea and you look for investors, they always ask if the idea is patentable - because otherwise they will not invest.

Amazon, for instance, registered a patent on "one click shopping" and in deed went after B&N...

Think for instance about AdultCheck. In theory (and assuming they were the first...) they could have patented AVS's. And The Hun could patent TGPs... (again, assuming he "invented" the concept)

proving you invented tgp's would be damn hard i would think.

i seen some patent for pop under consoles. duno how some companies even get these patents in the first place.

Just think about all those people from the academy, who practically invented TCP/IP, e-mail, etc. They made nothing from it, while Microsoft, AOL and the other giants are using their technology to make billions... Fuck, they should at least compensate the Universities where these scientists worked!
