what do you guys think? I think its one of the nicest pens I have seen in my life! :thumbsup

Snake Doctor 02-06-2006 11:34 PM

They make some pretty pimp pens.

I used them all the time when I was in sales. I always felt like it helped a little bit in getting the customer to sign

Jennyfer 02-06-2006 11:35 PM

Wow...if you have $300 for a pen, you should give some of that money to me :winkwink:

Steen2 02-06-2006 11:36 PM

Nice. I have always admired nice pens but never indulged. I find it hard to justify. Perhaps when I do direct to client stuff, perhaps.

xenigo 02-06-2006 11:38 PM

I have a Mont Blanc pen and it's alright. It's flashy and feels nice in my hand, but I always end up using Bic pens because I'm afraid of losing it. I much prefer Bic pens over the Mont Blanc in terms of the way they write, too.

welcome to my world

the 3 reasons pushing me to buying this pen:

1) a little too much in my paypal account at this time, would like to reduce the funds

2) I will be using it in school, about 2 days a week. That's major points with the girls in class! :Graucho

3) It can be kept for many years as long as the condition is still good, and the design will not run out of style any time soon

I can't stand regular pens. They have failed on me COUNTLESS times, I usually prefer a pencil! Buying this nice pen might therefore be a nice thing, although a bit overpriced!

stevo 02-06-2006 11:43 PM

Id buy one, but i'd lose it within a week! :)

It's a nice pen, my biggest complaint is that the ball doesn't roll smoothly enough. It feels like there's too much friction, as if it's using an ink that's too thick.

What I love about the Bic pens is that the thing just glides over paper. As far as pens failing, I wouldn't consider this to be more reliable. Just like how a Ferrari isn't more reliable than a Honda. :) The Bic is the Honda.

beemk 02-06-2006 11:48 PM

haha, you waste more money on useless shit than anyone bdjuf.

You make good points. Yet the Ferrari is far more exotic than the honda.

Same thing when it comes to cars, pens, watches, furniture, and almost everything else.

People who have money sometimes love to show off :upsidedow

Mr.Right - Banned For Life 02-06-2006 11:50 PM

They are a fantastic pen.

northboy 02-06-2006 11:51 PM

I always found regular bic pens to be much better for taking notes and writing fast. I tried a mont blanc pen and it just didn't feel good writing fast.

I'd rather use that same money on trips around he world than a pen or watch or jewelry :2 cents:

$300 on a pen is just dumb. Your too concerned with dumb superficial shit in your neverending effort to impress your peers.

Spend your money on real assets.. your gravy train may not last forever. Seriously.

many of these pens and watches are able to maintain most of their value if kept in good condition

it would probably be easy to sell this pen for 100$ after having used it for a number of years! (at least I think, hehe)

retain it's value?
I think you just said you could get $100 for it, which is like 33% of the purchase price.. you'd get more return for money if you bought a car. hah.

american pervert 02-07-2006 12:14 AM

I had one that dropped on the floor and slipt in half. fuck em, this is my new pen

you know what, you are absolutely right... I spend FAR too much money on bullshit brand name goods to impress others as well as myself

but fuck it, I am 20 years old. if there is going to be time to impress people, it should be now! at the peak of my social life!

what could possibly be a bigger social life than college?

Libertine 02-07-2006 12:26 AM

Get a simple Parker Jotter instead. It looks simple and stylish, will last a lifetime, and costs only a fraction of what you're planning to spend.

Doctor Dre 02-07-2006 12:26 AM

lol @ the people complaining about him buying a 300$ pen . I'm NOT a player and I can spend that much in one night in a club... a pen, if you are using it often, is way more usefull then a fucking night in the club.

Some people pay $50 000 for their watch, bdjuf pay 300 for his pen ... no biggie.

My friend's father collect lighters and he's paid up to couple grand for a single one.

EdgeXXX 02-07-2006 12:28 AM

Bdjuf, we really gotta find you a hobby bro.

WiredGuy 02-07-2006 12:32 AM

Do you use a pen that often? I think I only use mine to sign checks. That's great if you write a lot with it, I just don't think I'd ever use it.
WG

Jakke PNG 02-07-2006 12:36 AM

Oh, also. I hope you're more careful than me. I buy about 20 pens per month.. I have no idea where they go. I would imagine that I find them when my place is cleaned, but no.. they just vanish. I've bought hundreds of pens the past few years....and when I need one, I can't find it.

The problem with paying $300 for a pen is that if it's actually inferior in usage to other things, it quite literally is a waste of money.

Vitasoy 02-07-2006 01:51 AM

The pen looks fugly to me:2 cents:

Kevin - The PNN 02-07-2006 01:56 AM

I bet my 0.69 bic signs as many checks as your $300 pen.

reynold 02-07-2006 01:58 AM

Wow! Mont Blanc is my dream pen... For now, I have to bear with my Parker Jotter.

Even if he uses it ... it's a waste of money... because bic pens will be better for sure.

If anybody buy a 300k$ car, it's a waste of money, same goes for designer clothes, a bigger house then you need... etc etc etc.

Some people just got different priorities.

P.S. #1 : I don't think a pen will really impress girl much
P.S. #2 : Saying I am in LOVE while capitalizing LOVE sounds REALLY REALLY faggish.

the weather has been wild, we've only had a few dry days since dec 19th..
crazy storm here on the weekend too, high winds, high tides, lots of flooding..
just like your area..

MattO 02-07-2006 04:24 AM

It looks like an old man's pants.

mrthumbs 02-07-2006 04:27 AM

i must say thats a nice pen but im quite sure you could find something similair for $5.

mrthumbs 02-07-2006 04:27 AM

its a fucking pen for crying out loud!

Pretty_Lara 02-07-2006 04:29 AM

it's stylish, but is it convenient to write with it? as it's not completely smooth...

X37375787 02-07-2006 04:33 AM

$300 for a Mont Blanc isn't that bad. I saw some fountain pens the other day for over $3k... now we're talking about sophisticated writing tools.

swedguy 02-07-2006 04:36 AM

My pens are PIMP.... and they work
