What do you want from us?

Okay, this is not an attempt at spam, I just got asked this question by a potential game sponsor, and was wondering this myself.

Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you have probably heard about ContentLotto Currently, we are giving away prize packages consisting of $100 -$300 content sets, or targeted sex.com traffic. The question before you is this, what other prizes would you like to see offered?

We are limiting the prizes to items that will help you improve your on-line business. So what would you like to see offered? Video, games, scripts, hosting, hardware?

Thank you in advance for your input.

all kinds of content... video plug ins.. games... stories... whatever... smaller prizes that aren't so fuckin hard to win. i've played all my credits every day since i first heard of contentlotto and still haven't won anything yet.

maybe if there were smaller, easier to win prizes.. like one $15 from somewhere... or a $50 pack of stories.. or maybe a month of leased content.... hosting... or domains.. whatever... theres tons of prizes that i would play for.. i just actually wanna win one.

thank you klik, I was wondering the same thing, until I saw the request for Xanax, then realized they were serious. :1orglaugh

however, please be aware that we are probably going to find it tough to find a sponsor from a pharmaceutical company, and most sponsors are probably going to want to award something that they actually have on-hand and do not have to call their connection for.

Besides, you start putting prizes like those up and I may have to start creating aliases for myself so I can collect them. :Graucho

Scootermuze 04-17-2002 04:39 PM

It doesn't matter what prizes are available if people keep going and going, then stop going because they never win anything. I know everyone can't win, but discouragement comes easy after awhile.

Okay, I think I may have mentioned this a dozen times on different boards over the past two weeks, but in case you missed it:
We have a couple of players that have won twice, and one that has won three times. They win because they play all of their credits every day.

We have about 3 winners every day.

We started off 3 weeks ago with 7 games and 8 plays a day. We now have 12 games and 15 plays a day. This gives everyone more opportunities to win.

As far as people not playing because they do not win, well I think that most state sponsored lotteries are still doing well, and Las Vegas is still packing in people that will never win anything.

However, if you make ContentLotto a regular part of your day, you can not help but eventually win.

OK from a womens point of view, how about some sex toys??
actually you guys could give them to your honeys also??..
Just my 2 cents:winkwink:

Jamdin 04-17-2002 09:34 PM

I've been playing every day for the past week & I haven't won anything but I'm not surprised. Luck is not exactly always on my side.

One thing I would like to see is a countdown of the cards left to scratch. I've tried using all tickets for one award one day & spreading out the plays evenly the next.

As for prizes, I would like to see hardware & stories offered also. How about dildos with the Content Lotto logo on them? :Graucho

Steve 04-17-2002 09:37 PM

Well, if you are thinking of offering things like XBox, PS2, etc, why not offer hardware? Monitors, hard drives, CD Burners and shit like that. Heck, maybe you can come up with a tech freak to get into it like the content sponsors. Put up a nice put together system as a monthly grand prize.

Just an idea. I actually thought the content giveaways were cool enough already. But I won't complain if you add more prizes LOL

Thank you for your input (along with everyone else so far) however, I am not sure I understand how sex toys would be beneficial to adult webmasters in furthering their business. We do not want to turn this into a circus midway, giving out stuffed bears emblazzoned with our logo.

Now, I thought that maybe we could give out tattoos with our logo, that could be cool for name branding, as long as we made them put the tat across the forehead or something. :1orglaugh

As far as hardware, I agree with monitors, DVD burners, and hard drives. Not sure how an X-box would enhance your business.

The stories prize would be quite acceptable, thanks for that suggestion. Any story providers that would like to sponsor a game, heads up.

Jamdin, I am sorry but there is no way that we will be putting up a countdown of the cards left to scratch. Primarily because we have no way of knowing when the next winner will come up, it is all random. Also, while the sponsors are all committed to multiple prizes every month, we do not want to bankrupt them.

As far as game stategy goes, I suggest finding what it is you want to win, and then concentrating all of your efforts, everyday, on that particular prize. I know two people that do that, and they have both won twice.

Damn, there goes my suggestion.

Jamdin 04-18-2002 06:14 AM

I meant countdown for the daily tickets scratched not how many until a winning card. Like you log in & see you have 15 cards to scratch, scratch one & the count goes to 14 left. Surely that can be done...

You don't live with kids, do you?

XBox = quiet time so parents can work :winkwink:

Okay, granted it has been a while since my kids lived here, but I do remember the Nintendo days, and while my primary concern was that this was going to weld my kids to the TV, what really happened was I became welded to the TV. So I only see XBox as a distraction from work. But that could just be me.

Jokke, yes, 30+ people have won. Check this out for some of them.

Jamdin, not a bad idea, and we have had this suggestion before. We will look into doing that next week. Thanks.

12clicks, yes, that could be it :1orglaugh

Squishy 04-18-2002 01:22 PM

I want a stuffed bear with a logo on it...

Squishy 04-18-2002 01:25 PM

Or, alternately, a copy of GASS 2.0 makes a nice prize...

smells like spam :)

baddog 04-19-2002 06:25 PM

Okay, a couple of people (I think) mentioned that hardware would be a nice addition to the prize pool. Well, you speak, we listen.

In the next few hours we will add two new games, one prize will be digital cameras, the other will be CD burners. If you happen to refer the webmaster that wins either of these prizes, you win a CD burner also. :thumbsup

Oh, and if no one wins the Pick 6 drawing tomorrow, the prize package will be bumped up to a $3,000 value. Not bad for 10 minutes of your daily routine.

bunky 04-19-2002 10:32 PM

hardware, software, lifetime supply of KY, TRAFFIC!, domains, hosting, free advertisement on your site..

just my ideas

20" !!!

baddog 04-20-2002 02:16 AM

4Pics,

You really want to see how honest we are I guess, and a monitor like that would really be pushing the envelope for us. I would be afraid that my 2 dead grandmothers would be among the first 2 winners :1orglaugh

bunky,

we already have plans for adding just about everything except the KY jelly, I guess we can see if Johnson & Johnson wants to sponsor a game
