We have to show our opposition to Islam and we have to, at times, run the risk of having unflattering labels placed on us because there are some things for which we should display no tolerance.

And when we are tolerant, we must know whether it is because of convenience or conviction.?

Besides, note the spin: the government is saying she's never "made any statements critical of Islam". However, that obviously wouldn't include any statements critical of radical Islam.

I'm for freedom of expression. Its laughable how some Muslims can get their gotch in notch over a cartoon. Maybe it shows how stupid their extremist views are. Religious extremism is ugly. Ever see the movie "Various Positions"? In it, an extremist Orthodox Jew in charge of a Jewish Cemetery learned of an elderly woman buried there who they thought had converted to Judaism in the end. It turns out she hadn't, they learned, and this asshole wanted to either have her body moved, or was willing to move all the Jews out of the cemetery so they could 'rest in peace.' Apparently, they couldn't 'rest in peace' being buried in the same cemetary as a goy (a non-Jew). I have heard of similar REAL-LIFE happenings. This is a real sickness, attitudes such as these. Do I feel sorry for extremist Muslims who so easily resort to violence? Hell no. They can go fuck themselves. They live in a world with other humans who do not share their strict fundamentalist views. If they can't get along, they can fuck off.

Actually it turns out that the translation of her biography is wrong and its taken out of context.

Opposition isn't the word she used.
Opposition is "modstand" in Danish the word she used is "modspil"

She is talking about the totalitarian and frightning side of Islam, Radical Islam and how young people get dragged into it because they aren't integrated in the Danish society.
What she said is more like "We have to show we have something different to offer than (Radical) Islam"

Unfortunately, it doesnt really matter whether she was actually talking about 'radical islam' all people around the world are going to hear (or read) is the word 'islam' period.
