Chuck Liddell = biggest lowlife in mma

god i hate the guy... wins last fight with couture by eye gouging him. wins this one because couture slips.

thing about it is how he was like a kid who saw candy spill on the floor when couture slipped... say what you want but if liddell had slipped, randy would stand there and wait. reminiscent of the fight where oleg taktarov's knee slipped out and the guy he was fighting stood there and waited while taktarov put his knee back in place.

Liddell is just the luckiest piece of cowardly shit thats ever stepped in the octogan.

So I'm guessing that Lidell won?

Was it a KO or a submission?

Webchick 02-04-2006 11:05 PM

Randy slipped and Chuck took advantage..

his words were, you stand in front of me long enough you will eventually get hit.

Anthony 02-04-2006 11:06 PM

Lidell knocked Couture the fuck out. Couture slipped, lost balance, Chuck came in and put him to sleep.

Righteous win.

$$$ 02-04-2006 11:06 PM

FUCK CHUCK LIDDELL

Webchick 02-04-2006 11:06 PM

wasnt a very exciting fight, I wish that the fight would of been something more entertaining but i still think Chuck would take it.

Snake Doctor 02-04-2006 11:08 PM

I don't see how you can call him a lowlife.

MMA is supposed to be as close to a street fight as possible while still being legal.

If some guy jumps you on the street and then slips you're going to wait for him to get up? Fuck that I'd be kicking him in the head.

Also last time I checked balance was a key part of being a martial artist, you shouldn't fall down during a fight.

But I didn't see the fight so I don't really know about the slip.

I was going to mention this, but didn't. You just went up a notch or two with me. :)

It is the closest to a street fight you can find.

neverlearn 02-04-2006 11:16 PM

So what if Couture slipped, Kudos for Chuck for being skilled enough to capitalize on it... ...I knew Chuck would win...$$$ talks and Couture , well what can you say, great career, sad to see him retire. Great Champ! :thumbsup

Like someone said earlier...its gotta be somewhat close to a street fight... at least Randy took the first one

Webchick 02-04-2006 11:17 PM

Yup, Randy officially retired after this fight.

True.
It was better in the early days before weight classes, rules about groin shots or kicking to the head and shit, but they had to do what they had to do to keep from getting shut down.

MikeVega 02-04-2006 11:18 PM

taking advantage of the other guys mistake or slip ..or missed swing ...Is what your suppose to do ... he won that fight clean and fair ...

It really does seem that way. imho if the two fought ten times, chuck would win maybe 2. and he got them both, in a row. both on odd endings. randy didnt look right tonight though, was kind of strange. i guess father time is catching up or his head wasnt in it, i dont know.

SmokeyTheBear 02-05-2006 12:07 AM

dont like his character , but if your fighting someone and they slip you hit them, thats why its called a fight not a politeness match

I mean sure, I can respect the retirement thing, but look at George Foreman, grills weren't enough so he came back to knock a few rounds out...

But with this one I'm thinking it's a done deal...too bad though really, he was an amazing fighter...

sometimes people slip and forget to keep their hands up and get knocked the fuck out...

sometimes people slip and forget to not get GOT with an arm bar...

those dirty bastards, they should wait till someone recovers to own that fight...

this is UFC not fencing, or boxing, or crochet...

Devour 02-05-2006 12:44 AM

You can't hate on Chuck... He has proven to be a great fighter. Waa waa Randy lost... Sounds like cry babies out there. That?s what fighters do... they take the open shot. He beat that old man fair and square... beat him right into retirement... :laughing-

Zuzana Designs 02-05-2006 01:35 AM

He won he rules ..and in 10 years he will still be kicking ass !! one slip you lose...GAME OVER In a fight that big you watch you and you take advantage of the others mistakes... GOOD BYE Randy retired life goes on, and is still a hall of famer ....

BobG 02-05-2006 01:55 AM

Slips like that happen when you're already hurt and starting to feel the desperation. Chuck could have slipped and been knocked out. He didn't though. Why? Because the better fighter doesn't slip. The better fighter knocks the guy out who slips. Randy was already hurt in the first and in big trouble with a badly broken nose. It was a no contest from the start. Liddell wins 99/100 fights against Randy.

Vitasoy 02-06-2006 02:39 AM

He also tried to gouge his eyes this fight aswell.

and the slip in question.

You know who would not be bitching about this? RANDY Fuckin' COUTURE. One of the classiest guys I've ever had the pleasure to meet! And still my fuckin' hero!
As for Chuck I've never met him but people I know who have say he's the most down to earth guy.
He's not a dirty fighter. When you train to fight you focus on taking advantage of your opponents mistakes. Chuck did the right thing. Just like when your hammering someone who probably is going out, you still don't stop till the ref stops you. Otherwise your opponent could recover and fuck you up! Just the way it is in MMA.
I congratulate Chuck for his win. I'm sure Randy did too!:2 cents:

And yet it's nothing like a street fight at all.

Static enviroment (ring, cage), single threat, etc etc.

Can you imagine Gracie laying on the bottom in the guard for 20 minutes in front of a club? :1orglaugh

Again bro, it's the closest there is.

In a street fight, I'd rather know how to grapple, than not.

No, no, you misunderstood me. I agree it's as close as you can come, and yes you have to know how to grapple. I was simply commenting on that even as close as it comes, it's a World away. Nothing more.

CDSmith 02-06-2006 10:14 AM

Wondering how many guys here saying "fuck Chuck Liddell" have the nuts to fight him themselves.

:D

Anthony 02-06-2006 10:14 AM

It has been said that UFC is "as close to a streetfight as it gets", and people who watch it love that there aren't all the faggoty rules that other types of fighting have. Yet when a guy gets in the octagon and treats it like a street fight and fights to win, some of you cry foul and complain that he's too dirty a fighter.

Now, why is that?

Eye poking is part of the game. 101 shit.

Congrats to Chuck!

Randy will come out of retirement to fight Shamrock.
This is all marketing 101.

Elli 02-06-2006 10:52 AM

I have the feeling this will be the topic of the day at kickboxing class tomorrow... guess I should edumacate myself on what happened.

sfera 02-06-2006 11:33 AM

nice job to him, whatever works

Pleasurepays 02-06-2006 11:38 AM

people crack me up. fighting is fighting. its not about honor or tradition or looking good. its about winning. there is no prize for second place except cuts, bruises and getting broken up.... or worse.

i am sure some guy is going to attack you on the street and you are going to stop him to let him know his shoe is untied and then break into a lecture about proper warm up and stretching before he kicks your head in.

Chuck is considered by most on the big MMA boards such as Sherdog as the dirtiest fighter in the game. Sure I understand in a REAL streetfight there are no rules, but in the UFC there ARE rules, and Randy didnt break any.

The biggest cheat Chuck did in this fight hasn't even been mentioned here. As in all his fights, he held onto the cage to avoid the takedown (illegal). Chuck knows the UFC will NEVER enforce the rule or do anything about it, so he continues to do it in every fight.

Congrats to Randy on an excellent career. :thumbsup

Sosa 02-06-2006 12:15 PM

lol keep on crying you are just pissed that randy got knocked out.

Yea, he grabbed the fence about two times that night.
