The tornado watch issued by the NWS storm prediction center has expired, but heavy rains continue to fall all throughout the Bay area.

The National Weather Service in Ruskin has issued a flash flood warning for Central Pinellas County until 5:00 pm EST. Locations affected include Seminole, St. Pete Beach, Pinellas Park, Largo, Clearwater.

See a list of street floodings as well as pictures of flooding here.

At 2:45 pm EST, the NWS doppler radar indicated rainfall rates of three inches per hour from thunderstorms over the warned area.

Doppler radar indicated 12 to 13 inches of rain has fallen today in the Pinellas Park area, with a 10 to 15 mile wide swath of 6 to 10 inches of rain from Madeira Beach to St Petersburg/Clearwater Airport.

Widespread flooding is occurring in the warned area. Numerous roads are under water. Structural failure of several roofs has occurred. Water may flood some homes, especially in low lying areas.

SeanE 02-03-2006 04:18 PM

Arizona had a total of 7.6 inches for 2005.

Last time it rained here was in October... seriously. It was a whooping 0.02 inches. Does that even count?

Its horrible here. What is it like the 108th day without rain?

plyndrty 02-03-2006 04:46 PM

It really sucked today. I got off I275 on Park Blvd and headed for 49th street and never made it there. Park Blvd was flooded and cars broken down all over the place. Then the hale started comming down and I made a U-turn back home.

We needed some rain but this is CRAZY...

Ha, just as I was reading this thread, it started yet again!

I saw two accidents in a 200 ft stretch of road today, and one of them was involving four or five cars. Then I saw another down the street. Nuts.
