Is there a way to figure out someone's IP when they are online on icq?

use the cosine law

Bring up your DOS prompt, or command prompt on 2000

Send them an ICQ, when they send it back, promptly type in "netstat" on your prompt.

Filter out all the ip's un-related to the person your talking to, & bingo....ip galore.

pro in theory, do you think I could set it up so I can block the ad servers i am conneccted to Via Icq? ads.aol.com or whatever... and they shouldnt show up.... hmm i might try

even if you find a real IP, is it going to help if it's on campus or whatever? if you trace it you'll just find the uni.. hell.. i bet it was done from the uni library computers.

the auto responding bots are not usually ran through a proxy, so it should be easy to get their ip.
