Clicking Sigs ----- Who actually does it?
 

I admit, if I see an original Sig I will click on it or at least hover my mouse over it to see where it leads.

Funny enough, at first I found sigs to be ridiculous... why would you click on such blatant advertisement? But I see that they actually work. I don't post much, but I get on average 12-15 people per day that go see my portofolio site coming from GFY.


What kind of traffic do you guys get from your sigs?

I get around 12,000 new clients a day to phatservers from my sig.

I click em all the time when i see new shit. It actually brought me into new products n stuff

I click em all the time, to see what's new. Obviously don't click the ones that are big sponsors, cuz that's just stupid.

If I have the luxury of time, I click on sigs... But seldom does it happen. :(
But I do appreciate well-designed sigs.

what I don't get is why people who put the bigger sponsors in their sigs (TCG, AFF, Silver, TopBucks, ARS, etc etc), why don't they make a webmaster resource page, put the fucking links on that with better descriptions, etc. and put the link to that page in their sig? Cuz obviously only a noob is gonna click those sponsors, so why not make it more worth your time and give them a shitload of info and links.

I click when I see somethign interesting allthough the value of sigs has gone down pretty hard last few years :(

curiousity gets me clicking sigs/buttons, especially if its something new / or the button doesnt explain much

I do click sigs becouse it.. i dont know i they are not banners and they are related to person im chatting with, so it is rather fanny

but i can say that i dont like sigs than usually bigger than message itself

the better question is how many people READ sigs? Sigs work great for branding, and image.

Also yeah people do click sigs.. it's advertising in the middle of a thread you are reading... there isn't a better spot (besides the skin obviously).

I've signed up for a few programs via sigs.

The problem lies in having time to promote everything I am signed up for.

Release every Sig for great justice.

I constantly click sigs, unless they are cluttered and unreadable (like juicemonkey).....I want to be able to skim over a thread and catch your sig and read it quickly, it has to catch my eye, and being cluttered doesnm't catch my eye, it throws me off

Having a sig is effective marketing because it's right in the threads where everyone is reading and participating. If I see something eye-catching and interesting in someone's sig sure, I'm likely to click it. If the person's not a total dick I might even sign up to their program or at least give them the referral.

yeah, but I usually steer clear of clicking someones sig if they are a known sig whore or prick...I will find someone I know and like and click theirs, or ask someone for their referral link

When I first Started in the industry, clicking on sigs was alot of fun, finding new affiliate programs. Nowadays only time i click on em is if I see something unique.

Also I think people should be more creative in their sig marketing

I first found PimpRoll from someones sig here on GFY actually. Now I work for them and Adult Elite.

I do click them when I see something interesting, or if I like someones post about their product or what have you. Generally if it's a helpful post.. I've NEVER clicked a "see sig" posters sig in a drama thread. Ever.

I do click sigs quite often. I'm interested in what other ppl do and how their sites look...new ideas, new inspiration for my design projects.
