IE assistance please.
 

For some reason my pc will not allow me to reach http://www.alexa.com/
It just gives me a 404 page saying can not find server or dns error. When I do click it it has 127.0.0.1 I think in my task bar.

I am assuming that something on my pc is blocking it. This is the only site I can not reach at all and it has been going on for some time. Any clues on a fix?

probably your hosts file. try google for 'hosts file' and clean the file.

goto command prompt and type , ipconfig /flushdns

hm... that's weird, how could 127.0.0.1 end up in hosts file for alexa site, better scan your pc with some useful tools

I am thinking now that an old copy of spybot may have blocked the domain.

Thanks that is what it was. Old copy of spybot had placed it in my host file to just display the default 404 page.
