How many times have you been investigated as a child?

AsianDevil 02-02-2006 12:05 PM

Lol, damn. You would think they would have gotten a therapist involved instead of the Secret Service

eroswebmaster 02-02-2006 12:06 PM

Wow, sorry I can't really stand up for the kid in this instance.

He wrote some very disturbing stuff and it has to be investigated. Threatening the president *whether I like him or not* is a felony and should be reported.

Not only did he write about wanting to harm the president but others as well.

Now I seroiously doubt the kid will get the chance to hurt the president, but what about kids he goes to school with.

Maybe this little episode and investigation will save someone's life including the kid in the story.

IWantU_Jeff 02-02-2006 12:10 PM

wow. what a waste or effort/time & money...

Marcus Aurelius 02-02-2006 12:15 PM

its okay. Bush just sent him a letter in class that said...

Do you like me?

CHeck yes or no.

YES____________NO

All is okay between them now. :)

WarChild 02-02-2006 12:18 PM

What most of you morons don't understand is that the Secret Service is required by law to investigate these instances once it's been reported to them.

It's not new with the Bush administration.

d00t 02-02-2006 12:18 PM

interesting......

The kid committed a crime, a felony. He has to be investigated for that crime.
I doubt the Secret Service is gonna actually charge him with anything and the kid will get some necessary help.

But when a crime is committed, especially something like this it should be reported. The principal I'm sure was following procedure by notifying the proper authorities, and then the "proper authorities" were following procedure.

And according to the article the agent investigating is the "resident" agent in charge in Providence. So it is not like they sent someone from Washington to do the investigation.

mardigras 02-02-2006 12:32 PM

Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were once 7th graders...:2 cents:

That aside, the administration announced via Ari Fleisher 4+ years ago you are no longer able to say anything you want without reprocussion, a 7th grader's youthful naivety aside if you say or write "the wrong things" you are liable to be "brought to account". Sucks, but "enough" people want it that way:(

baddog 02-02-2006 12:49 PM

Brad, you are not happy unless you are bashing the US, admit it.

Now, think back a year or so ago about that Indian kid that killed a bunch of classmates, and upon closer investigation was discovered to have a MySpace profile where it was pretty obvious the kid had issues.

Psychos always write shit down. This kid fits the profile if you ask me. Maybe we should just ship him to Canada. He would be so much safer there.

SmokeyTheBear 02-02-2006 01:01 PM

wtf kind of school is that...

Why would you ask a child to write an essay on a "perfect day" , and then get pissed off that he completed it.. That is just INSANE.. if i was stilla schoolkid i would have never completed school.

Freedom of speech but what watch you say..

I really really dont get how anyone would correlate a fictional "wish" to reality..

On a perfect day i would likely be sitting right next to that kid as he offed bush and oprah :)

Manowar 02-02-2006 01:01 PM

umm what crime was commited ? if i write a "FICTIONAL" account of a perfect day , how is that any different than a science fiction writer's fictional account of a space battle.. some of stephen king's characters had quite innapropriate wished of bodily harm to well known people, i dont see them investigating him..

Stallion 02-02-2006 01:16 PM

Sounds like that kid has some serious mental issues.

instead of secret service they could have tried counselling with a doctor.

which method has a higher percentage of working to help the child?

#1 it's not fiction. He did not write a story about a character engaged in a space battle who wished he could inflict harm on the president...he did however write what he felt would be HIS perfect day.

lagwagon 02-02-2006 01:33 PM

good waste of money and time on that kid.

I'm sure there are some parents who wished the local law enforcement agencies had wasted more time and money on Eric and Dylan.

My gf was investigated by the SS when she was 20. She's not entirely sure why tho.

jacked 02-02-2006 01:36 PM

thats pretty fucked up

WME 02-02-2006 06:11 PM

anything else they have not investigated?

reynold 02-02-2006 07:30 PM

That kid must psychologically disturbed... He must have been deprived of all the love and afftection that's why he has turned so violent.

i dont agree , it was a "fantasy" they asked for a fictional wish , infact it reminded me much of a "fictional" piece i wrote in school , and im sure this kids was much nicer, as i had a full page description on disembowling the teacher ( he didnt find it amusing )

Mind you, i do agree its a bit wierd that he wouldnt be smart enough to "third party" his fantasy..

All i can say is i have wished many similar things , i just havent put them on paper, so i can empathize with him.. He likely did it to SHOCK the teacher..

Its always best when writing things like that to make up a character like "BokeyTheSmear" who does all the dirty deeds.. On my perfect day , a character i call "BokeyTheSmear" puts a bullet in bush's face after tying oprah to the front of a train and sending it off a cliff.. of course i would NEVER do such things , but "bokeythesmear" on the other hand is a crazy mofo :) glad i'm not him :1orglaugh

he wasnt violent he wrote a fictional story.

I find it disturbing that a kid who writes a "story" about killing a few celebs gets the third degree , meanwhile bush off's innocent people by the thousands and we pay him for it..

naix06 02-02-2006 08:10 PM

poor kid... when he grows up he'll probably want to destroy the universe and then the intergalactic police will investigate

psili 02-02-2006 08:10 PM

K.
So the kid writes some objectionable material and gets busted for it.
So what, right?

Point #1. Well, he's a fucking kid. In these times, you gotta watch out for the little fuckers. They're sketchy and will pop a cap in your ass when you're not looking. Cuz' parents aren't parents anymore, rather just some grown figures handing out money and not spending quality time with their child.

Point #2. Well, he's a fucking kid. In these times, us grown ups gotta worry about those sketchy fuckers because we don't remember what it was like to be full of angst / turmoil / messed up emotions. That, and us grown ups have no time to spend with these little rugrats and after a few school shootings we're scared to death of them. So when one pops off about his inner aggression, we bust his ass, because it's wrong.

Point #3: Just look at society today... Personally, I feel bad for children, for so many different reasons.

Bulgaria.

Matt 26z 02-03-2006 03:00 PM

It has always been their policy to investigate all reported claims of potential violence against a President, no matter who made them. If they get a report, they MUST investigate it. So they did nothing wrong there.

It's a little far out that the school would notify authorities over this though.
