Is your self-confidence connected with how your business is doing ???

or isn't there any relation between your self worth ( self confidence ) and success / stagnancy / failure in your biz ?

who 02-02-2006 11:18 AM

Yes there might well be. I would be a real challenge to any shrink though.

BlueWire 02-02-2006 11:21 AM

Well, i think i'm fairly confident normally...

But if biz is well and also if i'm doing well with like staying active (working out and such)....the combo of that stuff makes me feel pretty confident in myself :thumbsup

Anna_O 02-02-2006 11:21 AM

Yes, but not primary. Other things are more importnant but it definately matters.

Herb Kornfield 02-02-2006 11:39 AM

Its a factor of moods at that particular momment but not the overall driver of my self confidence.

Self Confidence comes from a place much deeper inside you, Its how you walk, talk, act and roll thru life. Either you have it or you dont.

everestcash 02-03-2006 08:12 AM

I ride a constant emotional roller coaster with the ups and downs of my business. When something doesn't happen as planned I get pretty depressed. When I get that next large check though, I'm on top of the world.

When my business is doing unexpectedly bad, I feel my judgement become clouded, and my vision becomes murky. I find it hard to focus on what I need to do to pull out of the problem. I find myself questioning if I can even get to where I need to be.

But when it's doing well, everything becomes crystal clear and I feel like I can literally take over the world. I find it best to give myself pep talks every once in a while, and discuss in my head what it is that I need to accomplish, and what I need to do to make it happen. That is usually a clarifying moment that puts everything back into perspective.

I wonder how Chuck Norris would answer this question?

He'd just go back in time and roundhouse kick polish_aristocrat before he had a chance to even pose the question.

Norris is beyond self-confidence, time and space.

V_RocKs 02-03-2006 08:49 AM

How to answer that.... hmm...

Antonio 02-03-2006 08:53 AM

nope, I was born with HUGE dick, business is OK, but when I was younger I have failed once or twice

I know I'm number one, why should I try harder?

Yeah and it sucks. If sales are down, I am depressed. If they are rocking I am on top of the world. I need to look at Stats remote by the week and lock the "today" button off.

Matt Collins 02-03-2006 10:14 AM

I think most of us have invested so much of our life (time, money, and emotions) that its almost impossible not to ride the roller coaster of business as it goes up and down.

I know that I am up when the company is up and down when the comapny is down, but its not the sole source of self confidence, but it is a factor.

Definitely. Any man that says otherwise is probably bald and Tibetan.

dissipate 02-05-2006 05:11 PM

No, i have a huge dick either way.

woj 02-05-2006 06:10 PM

yes, when business is good I have dreams of buying a few million dollar mantion or driving a ferrari... when business is bad I have nightmares about going to a 9-5 job... :-/

Theo 02-05-2006 06:13 PM

My somewhat self confidence comes from knowledge. Mood factor is important though.

reynold 02-05-2006 10:31 PM

I believe there is a strong correlation between self-confidence and the status of business. But my confidence does not wholy rest on my business.

Ha?!

Did I make any sense?
