Windows XP question
When I start my computer up, Windows gives me the screen that tells me to select which user to login as yet nothing is there. (I have to ctrl+alt+del to see my login)...Does anyone know how I get my account to show up along w/ the Admin account so that I can add other users?

Bump. Anyone?

If this is something new I would try to do a system restore back to a date that you know your computer was working properly.
|
|
if you had done some installs or setting changes a day before this happen
revert and go back to System Restore START>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM RESTORE |
Here's something else that doesn't make sense to me.
When I'm logged into the "user" account...(after ctrl+alt+del to log on) and put the computer in stand by mode, when I come back I can't login again (I can't ctrl+alt+ del to get the login screen.) I'm just stuck at the welcome screen and have to restart computer. |

:Oh crap |
When I try to login as admin I get this error when putting in my password:
"unable to login because of an account restriction" Anyone know what's up with that? |

1. Click Start, click Turn Off Computer, and then click Restart.
2. After the computer completes the Power On Self Test (POST), press F8, and then click Safe mode. NOTE: If you have difficulty getting to the Safe mode menu command, press F8 repeatedly after you turn on the computer. 3. Log on as an Administrator, or with another account that has Administrator permissions. 4. Click Start, click Settings, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts. 5. Click the Administrator icon. 6. Click Create a Password or Change my password. 7. Type a password for the account, and then retype the password to confirm it. 8. Type a hint to help you remember the password in the event that you forget it. 9. Click Create Password or Change Password. |
Sounds like a problem in .NET to me.

Try logging in... Go to the Control Panel portion then click User Accounts.

I can login to Admin and my guest account but whenever I restart my computer, I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get the login.
I just want it so that when I start up, I can just click on my guest account and startup Windows automatically. Ideas? |
Something else..
If I'm logged in under the guest account and put the computer in "Stand By" mode...when I come back to my computer I can't get back on (it says to click which account I want to login with and the icon is still not there *PLUS* I can't even CTRL+ALT+DEL to get my account login up. |
Have you tried f8 and safe mode yet, as suggested by Prime?
