After sending off that check to the IRS yesterday, i was depressed. After seeing how some of our tax money is being spent today, made me ever more depressed.

I stop by my local dominicks to pick up some shit so i can BBQ tonight, well there's two checkout lines open so i go in one. 2 big fat black chicks with 2 FULL carts ahead of me. I'm observing what they're putting on the conveyor belt thing.. pounds after pounds of big fat steaks, I'm talking porterhouses, couple racks of ribs, about half a cart full of those 7$ homerun inn frozen pizza's. And a whole bunch of other shit, the premium quality stuff... Now the total is about 400$, and guess what they pay with.. plastic.. the tax payer support plastic, the link card or whatever the fuck they call foodstamps now.

It's fucking depressing, our hard earned money going towards premium quality food for big fat lazy black bitches with no jobs. Fuck welfare. We pay for their food, we pay for their housing (Section 8) and its all abused like crazy.

The sad thing is that for every lazy fatass slob that abuses welfare there is an honest person who is just temporarily down on their luck that really needs it.
When I was a kid my parents divorced and my mom moved us to Oklahoma to be near family. She was only in her mid-20's, had no real job skills, and we had to live on welfare for a while till she could get on her feet again. Back then welfare only covered things like cheese, milk, butter, bread, lunchmeat, the staples that you can survive on. Now they allow people on welfare to get almost whatever the fuck they want.. why would anyone want to get a job when they can eat like they already have one?
Too bad it will take forever to change things and when they do it will probably only end up hurting the people that really need it anyway.

I agree with the second post 100%, Most people that realy need it are to ashamed to ask or barely are under the wire.

I have 5 children and worked 2 jobs before the internet, I broke my foot at my part time job, and was un able to work my full time job. Workmans comp only paid 80% after s few weeks of my part time job. Of course my full time job paid most of my bills, I went to several places and asked for help, they all said I made to much money in the past to qualify. I was Very Pissed, and had to hide my broken foot to donate Plasma to get the cheapest food I could find for my family...

I also know of several women that are on welfare that live with a Boyfriend that makes Great Money, they will never get married to this man becasue it will kill their Free ride..

Forget about welfare, that is a small portion of your tax dollars.

Most your tax money is spent on our nations defense. Almost half your tax dollars are going to the military. And we still cant kill a guy who lives in a cave.

Our nation's defense protects us, and it provides jobs. I'd rather pay for safety and defense than pay for someone elses porterhouses.

So who is to blame.. the recipients or the gov't?

The gov't says, in escence, "don't get a minimum wage job cause we'll feed you, put you up in an apartment, and pay the utilities for ya.. and if ya jave more kids, we'll give you more bucks.. tax free!"

Now take a minimum wage worker with a kid or two and see how rough it is to raise them.. no matter why they now have the kids.. then if they do make a bit more money, the taxes kill them.

So ol' Uncle Sam is pretty much sending out invitations for free money..

As long as there is a welfare system, it will always be abused because the civil service workers in the welfare offices are low paid, civil service empoyees who aren't all that dedicated to making sure it's done right... but that doesn't just pertain to welfare.. Any service or system that is staffed with civil service workers is loosely run.


and as far as taxes.. what REALLY ticks me off is the number of people in the IRS and the White House who owe lots of back taxes... Quite an interesting expose I saw on that..

I think it was Truman who had welfare recipients working on roads, parks, etc. and he said that they WILL show up for work, even if it's to lean on a shovel handle.. which is how it should be... Once these freeloaders, who are abusing the system, realized that they had to show up somewhere, they'd be less likely to stay on it.

There are lots of things they could do to earn that welfare money.. but again, the gov't doesn't want to look at it that way.. they'd rather we just support em and be done with it...

i do agree in some form of "work for the dole" though.. even if it's 2 days a week doing public works.. or the closest possible thing to the person's ability.. unemployed builder has to help make a playground.. unemployed artist has to get minimalist with a roller in a highschool extension.. etc etc. leaving 3 days for job hunting and 2 days for a weekend.. as much as i think welfare recipients get demonized too much.. theres nothing wrong with getting them in some work for a few days a week... the upstanding guys down on their luck will do it instantly to show their not bludgers.. the bludgers will just have to do it or get penalised in income..... and learn the value of a good day's work..

If people could make enough money to live on minimum wage this thread probably wouldn't exist. Minimum wage = the cost of daycare, a single parent's only choice is welfare or watching the baby starve to death.

Also keep in mind using food stamps doesn't mean the person doesn't work - someone working minimum wage still qualifies for food stamps especially if they have children. It's a shame that in the richest country on earth a person can work full-time and still be below the poverty level, but that's the way it is. God bless America.

That isn't what this thread is about. This thread is about welfare recipients who don't work, have no intention of working, or won't work. I have no problem with the government giving money and help to people in tough situations that truly need help. But it kills me when I see others, who have many other venues of earning the cash, abuse the many government systems so that they can eat at Denny's twice a week, while a single mother who works as a waitress at the local truck stop has to feed her kids hot dogs and mac n' cheese.

We're talking about a woman and a child who are and will contribute to society in a positive way living like shit, while others that do nothing but bitch and complain about not getting enough free money are living "decent".

That's what everyone is pissed about. That's why we pay taxes. That's why we have these laws. To help people in need, not to give to free loaders.
