What are some kickass restaurants around the Downtown New York area?
We are in NYC for the day, and want to know a good italian/oriental/steakhouse restaurant to eat in tonight.
50$ a person should be good, thanx! |
I know 2 good ones just cant remember the names. Hope that helps.

Bobby Van's Steakhouse is nice

Check out Pastice in the meat packing district. 14th Street on the west side.
Celebs, hot ass and metros plus the food is good. You'll love it. |
|
|
tao, spice market, ata (Indian), asia de cuba...may be a bit more than $50 per person though
|
mcdonalds
|
Gray's Papaya Hot Dogs.
Get the Recession Special 2 Hot Dogs 1 16oz Papaya or other fresh fruit drink $2.75 I think, not sure what the current price is. By far NYC's best Hotdogs. You're better off going for famous NYC foods than going for a fancy dinner. Fancy dinners can be bought anywhere. |
carmines is good

I always like Paul's (the burger place) in St. Marks...the one with the big cartoon fries and burger out front on the corner, great fucking burgers and decently priced.
|
If you're downtown and want a steak, Smith and Wollensky has been around forever and will do you decently (although with drinks and appetizer you're definitley looking at more than $50 a person, this is NYC after all). There are better pieces of meat to be found in the city though, and I ain't talkin about the fellas in the village. Sparks' steaks are insane, and Ben Benson's in midtown has always been a favorite.
