OK... You know what crap he's going to mumble thru tonight?

We are gonna enter the "world of we". When the shit is so high, the use of the word "we" gets used more - like ""we" are all in this together and going to be the leaders coming out the other end". "We" will hear how great "we" are and how "we" have overcome so much blah blah.

It's gonna end up a pep talk from a totally unqualified source with nada cred.

Violetta 01-31-2006 05:26 PM

AmateurFlix 01-31-2006 07:18 PM

hmm, the alcoholic cokehead Bush is telling the world that the country he represents has an addiction? if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black...

czarina 01-31-2006 07:21 PM

Bush has helped to create that addiction, and done everything to stand in the way of progress that would stop it.

INever 01-31-2006 07:25 PM

I'm taking a hot bath now. I haven't watched the mofo speak since mid- Sep 2001 when he made me puke.

Thurbs 01-31-2006 07:26 PM

should be "America is addicted to oil, and my family and friends wouldn't have it any other way"

reynold 01-31-2006 08:33 PM

Correction Mr. President... America was never addicted to oil, it was YOU and your associates, that is. Oh please... That was the very reason you waged preemptive strikes on Iraq and Afghanistan. How much more blood would you be willing to trade for oil?

FUCKuPAYme 01-31-2006 08:33 PM

He should

We are addicted to oil. But not by our own faults.

For decades we've asked for alternatives.

Personally, I could care less what powers my car, alcohol or "fossil" fuels but I want it to be cheap and in easy access.

abadfish 02-01-2006 10:37 AM

i agree, we are not addicted to oil... we are addicted to fuel that allows us to move freely. It could be anything that provides the same benefits of oil. Bush definitely is not helping our dependancy.

Tom_PM 02-01-2006 10:53 AM

My car bought new in 1996 gets 40 mpg. Someone show me a NEW car that is non-hybrid that gets 40 mpg?

Too busy pushing SUV's that get 7 mpg I guess. Too bad there was no government mandating fuel economy, ah well.

They still are pushing to drill in Alaska BTW.

jacked 02-01-2006 10:56 AM

bush needs to pick up a gun cock it back and put a bullet in his fucking head

See past US prejudices and pick a small to mid size European or Japanese diesel - the smaller Japanese cars'll do 60+ mpg easily.

Actually there is and has been a government madate for fuel economy, and manufacturers are supposed to make sure a certain % of the automobiles sold meet a certain standard (or perhaps it was the entire fleet of cars sold in a year has to have a certain overall average mileage), which is why there are very few american sportscars (that typically get poor mileage) being manufactured except for a few high end models that most people cannot afford.

However that regulation has never applied to trucks (and SUVs etc), which at the time these regulations were passed were considered mainly work vehicles.

The auto manufacturers used this loophole to start turning trucks into something more appealling to mass consumers and the government never cought up with new regulations to close the loophole.

The same should be for China, India, etc. With this mentality, it's no wonder the Earth will be a nightmare place to live on, within 50-100 years ...

High Plains Drifter 02-01-2006 04:54 PM

Five years ago Bush said we shouldn't conserve oil, "it wasn't the American way."

High Plains Drifter 02-01-2006 05:03 PM

Q: Should Americans conserve energy?

A: "That's a big 'no'. The president believes that it's an American way of life, that it should be the goal of policymakers to protect the American way of life. The American way of life is a blessed one. The president considers Americans' heavy use of energy a reflection of the strength of our economy, of the way of life that the American people have come to enjoy." - Ari Fleischer
