Anyone Else find their content on WANKAVISION and wonder WTF?

Found some of our content on there. They have content archived in channels by genre and are hosting it for people to watch for free. endless amounts of trailers. many in perfect sequence.

there are no affiliate links. are they just giving away our shit just to do it?

anyone that wanted to go to a site would have to type in the URL. i don't see how that helps em.

doesn't make any sense to me.

there are a lot of big programs shit on here. the who is info is private by DBP.

Kinda crazy... as a surfer, I would think that would be heaven. As a sponsor, I would think it would be fine as long as you are watermarked (it becomes like a huge hosted video gallery) As an affiliate...maybe not so good. But I'm not sure.

This could be one of two things:

1. A very generous good samaritan who wants to give out free porn.
2. A commercial venture who has temporarily withheld advertising to gain bookmarkers and backlinks faster than any ad-laden service could.

I'm betting on the latter.

the bookmarker thing is what we are thinking here in the office. so basically, yes they are stealing content because they are using that content to build perceived value in a product that they intend to start selling. granted, if that is what the future holds for this site.

maybe thats also why the extra money was spent to register by Domains By Proxy.

Bookmarking doesn't mean they are trying to sell you the product, look at delicious. The bookmarks play on their site not a bookmark to your computer. They'll probably put ads on the site later, it's up to each sponsor if a watermark / direct link in forum is worth the site playing their trailers.

Although, you can't fault it just for the private registration. Hell, I don't own a single domain with non-private registration

yeah, we don't really know, this is discovery basically. discussion if you will. i'd think that most people wouldn't want them using their content to build bookmarkers if they weren't going to promote them later. if they do intend to sell advertising later or promote sponsors, you'd hope that they were going to promote the ones that helped them get that nice phat list of bookmarkers with their content.

in my opinon at this time. its no big deal.

their bandwidth.
our urls are on the vids.
they aren't pushing to anyone else.
the content is old.

just looking for feedback. anyone who spends tons of money on exclusive content gets a little nervous when they find it being used by someone.

it is in beta, so lets see.

nah, wouldn't be my main reason to say that, just an extra security feature and obstacle should someone be planning something a little shady. which no one is saying is going to happen at this time. i know one thing, i'll watch it for everyone to see what happens.
